THANK-YOU!!!!
I can never get a straight answer on this! Everyone says they cannot be rebuilt...why? Cause the factory doesn't do it?
So What? Just cause the factory can't (more likely won't) doesn't mean it can't be done. Or at least give us an explanation.
ANYBODY???
I have...
Yeah I know, cause they suck...beat you to it.
But seriously, I'm not an expert on shock rebuilding. I have heard over and over that the tems cannot be rebuilt or revalved or anything.
Could someone explain to me why?
My koni's are shaking my teeth loose. I miss the adjustability of...
I'm not totally clear on this.
Do we know what resistor values we need to run LED's and not get the "tailights out" light???
Please post and let me know !!!
Jesus man! Listen to yourself!
Would you want to buy a car from an owner with that attitude?
Now I know why there are so many shitty supras out there.:3d_frown:
I agree, I too live in California and almost never talk to other Supra owners.
All of the compliments I get on my car are from non-Supra owners.
I hate to say it but I think most people living is Socal are (unfortunately) superficial jerks.
The average person in L.A. would rather...
If you feel a vibration in the seat of your pants that only happens at the speeds you mentioned (plus the rearview shakes so bad you can't see anything), you may very well have a twisted driveshaft.
I had the same problem, and I posted it, and thank god IJ (F'n guy rules) knew what it was.
Sloppy small block 400 power. A famous overheater...to thin between the cylinder bores and you're thinking of shoehorning it in a car that isn't known for it's cool engine compartment. And as a bonus it's gonna be mated to a th350 (3 speed I assume) and just to top off that you want to use...
Around $30k and counting. Plus the cost of the car. Not to mention I do almost all the work myself, with the exception of machine work.
Kinda makes me sick when I consider how much more stuff I want to do.
I have just been through this same exact problem and replaced everything to do with the lights (relays, wiring, etc.) before I got to the real problem. And it's the second time this has happened in about a year.
Both times it turned out to be a bad combination switch. I didn't even consider...
If you can keep the shock tube from spinning (either vice grips or better yet new upper mounts) put a couple of washers between the shock nut and the top of the mount to take up the slack.
I did that before I replaced my original tems shocks and it worked like a charm. No more clunking.
I too own a "brown car" and have been a quiet fan of your brown car. In fact I can definitely say that your car has been a source of inspiration for me over the years. I feel really sad hearing it's going to that dragstrip in the sky.
Forgive me if I missed previous posts but, what...
YUP!
If you are unfamiliar with the process (it sounds like you are) you should take some pictures of the motor etc. at various angles to look at later, in case you get a little fuzzy on what stuffs supposed to look like during reassembly.
