WOW The Ken!! How in the hell did you drag both of these strangers into this thread? It's good to see them posting. Now Dave go post an update to your thread, it's been a while since I have seen an update there.
I'm SO confused!!!!!! Who's Ken anymore? We all know and love both of you...
UPS offers motor freight, I don't know about the rest. I think FedEX bought somebody too. They will probably be higher than the others, unless you can ship it through your work, and they have an account with a discount. My company's discount is very nice. An individual would probably not go that...
I have shipped a couple of tranny's through UPS, and received the one I'm using now that way too. It really is not that much more to ship it on a pallet. UPS/FedEX/DHL type shipping is not anywhere near as safe as motor freight. If you use a UPS type, use a strong box, drain all fluids, wrap the...
Thanks Noah for great info (ie. page numbers) on a FRIDAY! I'm gonna either go see Jim this weekend, or just borrow a good multimeter from our phone tech here at work. i had a tough time cranking it this morning with it cold at that low of a pressure. I added some fuel via the NEO to get it...
It was asked by Jay inTHE KEN'S thread how my car was doing. I took Noah's advise and lowered my fuel pressure to 26 without the vacuum line, and hooked up it dropped it to under 20. That brought my boost back, and smoothed most of the lawnmowering. I tried for a short while to improve it with...
Was it BSTKLDU? Boost killed you. As it turns out the adjustments I made today after installing accordian did not help the car a bit. It took my boost away DAMNIT! Maybe tomorrow I can make some more adjustments.
^Ya me Too! Jim said I could borrow his multimeter to recheck it, but I haven't had a chance to get over there yet. I put my accordian on when I got back from lunch, and just took it for a test drive now at break. Still lawnmower like, and I added some fuel with the NEO but still couldn't smooth...
Bringing the car/thread back to life!
Yesterday i made my 3rd trip to the DMV, and finally got the car titled in my name, and got it a current tag. So, now that I can legally drive the car, I drove it to work this morning. It was the first time I have driven it since Noah and I had worked on...
You should consider trying to sell it first. A part out is a lot of work in selling, pulling, packing, shipping, communicating. I have parted several, and have semi-retired from that due to all the time it takes. Good luck with the MKIV! Good luck with the part out or sale of this car as well.
Damn Jay, I hate a F'n theif! Maybe they will be caught and get put in a cell with Jerome right after they let him out of confinement for a year.
I guess finding out the pistons aren't the right size kind of explains a little about what happened. And, it gave you a chance to catch the valve...
First let me say That is a VERY NICE car!
I'm not a fan of the wing, and I don't really think a rear diffuser looks good on our cars either. The car looks great as a whole though, and I wish my engine bay looked that good.
I have pictures of tank removal in my write up on the Walbro pump and 12 volt relay in the tech section. The tank removal is not hard at all, but I have step by step pictures there.
The auto actually has a 3-4 inch metal piece at the end that the 5-speed does not have. take it off, and your cable should match up I believe. Now, it should work, but I don't think they will still read correctly from one to the other. It will be off by a few miles per hour at slow speeds, and...
I love that green car. Those fenders look good in his scheme. But Stretch is right, if you don't complete the package, they would not look near as good.
