The old springs would want to "float" the valves at higher RPM's. Cams worn yeah maybe at 100k, defineatly the springs would be a little weak. Vibration at 6-65K, could be several things from unbalanced engine componants, to motor mounts.
Cost to convert to SD, maybe CRE could answer that one...
The heater hose comes out there and goes into the heater switch. There is a large fiting that goes into the head that the hose is connected to. It maybe leaking from either one, most likely the hose. It maybe small enough that it's just blowing down over the bellhousing not really dripping, and...
Usally dosen't include the head bolts. As long as you have the book or reference material with general knowledge you can do it. The first time I pulled the head I marked everything and bagged or put the bolts and nuts were they went, saves a lot of guess work later. Cleaned everything then put...
I think his female part of the harness had to be closed up a little. Be careful as the connectors are very thin metal. I think he had to squeeze the female a little. Figure out which conections it should be and look them over real close. I tried to find the thread for you but it must be buried...
I agree for a na. Accept it, don't think so. 200 shot yeah he might blow off some turbos along with his motor soon after without somesort of way to tune the AFR.
I've been there about 35 years ago. The only problem I had a AMC Gremlin at the time. Beat the hell out of that thing, then my younger brother got ahold of it. The little straight six was still banging away for a long time after that. Good times in the rockies.
Yeah I noticed a diff. just haven't paid too much attention to how much or which way. But I've never hit rev limit. Did the 88's have one? I think I seen a thread that said certain years didn't have one.
Opps sorry to step on your thread my friend.
I know that. That's why I'll take mine back to the same dyno to same guy so I can see any difference I've made with mods. At least it will show me somewhat close the difference. The thread at the bottom of this page tells about the difference and inaccuracy that is possible.
Almost everybody...
Yep that's what I forgot. Thanks CRE. And like he said a new pump is the way to go. If you got it from a distributor, they usally won't guarantee it with out that change.
Not saying he's being untruthful, just saying it's not adding up that's all. Even running extra lean would not make that much difference. And if he's running that lean he won't be running very long.:3d_frown:
The problem without having the motor out to be able to properly prep the head and block to insure the BHG dosen't come back. You probably could have the head off in an evening that way you would be able to see what you have to deal with. How many miles on the motor?
Higher compression along with a lot of other things. I have 10.5 to 1 compression with a lot more mods and on a rebuilt motor. Couldn't get those nos.
He must have more mods(a lot more) than he has listed. Or a shot of NOS or dyno operator error. Read the post at the bottom of this page about...
