Age is relative son...since I have most of my hair, all my teeth, I'm not fat and can still get it up...I don't consider myself old.
48, if you must know.
Geeze...when I see it there in print it does look like a pretty big number. :icon_bigg
True that...but, that's not quite the whole story.
A little 4cyl motor, especially a honda (they're a little on the wimpy side) needs a lot of work if it is to run fast and reliable, and that costs a ton.
If you just want fast you can do it cheaply, but let's be honest, it's gonna be a...
I promise not to...:sarcasm:
Which version of modded civic are you talking about?
'Cause you are not going to run 10's in a civic without slicks in the front and little skinny wheels and tires in the rear and a healthy shot of nitrous. And that version of a civic won't even hang with a...
Actually, you may still have to worry at some point, because exhaust studs stripping are typical on 7m's.
If you get your head rebuilt (if possible) or replace it with another head (more likely) and put in helicoils from the get-go then you won't have to worry.
oh...hammering...not good.
btw...most of the aftermarket springs are cheap quality and suck. :3d_frown: Eibachs are ok but I wouldn't call 'em great.
Coilovers are the answer if only you could get them dialed in, it's hard to get them adjusted just right.
If your smelling gas that bad I would also check it for a fuel leak, just to be safe. But there is definitely more fumes without the cat and you will notice it sitting at a light etc.
If I'm not mistaken you said "it boosts up when you stand on the go pedal" which tells me it's probably not a boost leak but just getting worn out and what your hearing is shaft play.
Get the turbo rebuilt before it siezes or comes apart on you and gets really expensive. Good luck.:icon_bigg
+1
You can run a ton of boost with twins as long as the turbos (and the motor) are set-up for it.
It doesn't say anything about the turbos themselves but, who knows? Maybe they've been modified.
Your buddy is comparing a dsm talon tranny which are notorously weak to an R154.
That's like comaparing pee-wee herman to a body-builder. His frame of reference is f'd.
If you got the skills to shift consistently then an R154will hold 11 sec passes all day long. :icon_bigg
Anybody know what size the stock sway bars are (for comparison sake)?
I'd like to know, and I junked mine a couple of years ago so I don't have them around to measure.
I searched and searched and called my local Toyota dealer and haven't been able to find the answer.
Thanks in...
