RSR is loud. I've been playing w/ different mufflers and tube bend configurations, and mandrel bent with a good quality muffler like the HKS etc, will get you a nice sound without being to loud. Believe it or not a flowmaster with a resonater is a pretty good combo that's very free...

Start by doing a quality rebuild on the motor w/ metal head gasket and go from there. That way you'll have a solid platform to build on.

Agreed. But, I think most people would rather keep the sidewall height of the tires uniform, and so wheel staggering (rather than tire) would be a more attractive option. IMHO.:icon_bigg

I'm not sure if that will apply to a mkiii, but if that line of thinking is correct, than it would be more effective to go to a 17" front and 18" rear wheel or 18"/19". Bigger diameter means more contact surface (assuming the widths are the same). Frankly, there's so many variables, that...

The rear struts are the ones I keep having to replace. It seems the weight of the hatch + glass + wing just wears them out. Next thing you know, I'm leaning in the cargo area and the hatch decides to try to decapatate me. News struts...and a year later same thing.

You are here^^^. If that checks out ok, then there's only a few things it can be: thermostat, radiator cap, air in system, unseen leak, water pump... I'm assuming you fixed the fan.:icon_razz

I think you should have looked under the hood every once an a while. Serously, If you don't take care of all the little things, and blow off regular service, you are asking for what just happened. Instead of just fixing what sounds like a bhg, you be wise to look at what caused the...
