The American Indianas knew about it in the desert. When you're dealing with 100 deg temps during the day, and 45 deg temps at night you're a fool to not build your house in the earth which stays at a nice 58 deg.
Well Im thinking about having a restrictor made for the turbo.
This is a very common practice on some of the v8 application turbos. Typically a turbo doesn't like to see over 40psi under decell.

First, Jeff isn't lying.
Second, the 62-1 turbo is just fine for making your power level that you want, as long as you have the fuel to support it.
I would suggest going with something smaller rear a/r if you're looking for something with radical street spool.

Im laughing my arse off already. The turbo in the pictures is built backwards. The turbine is in the compressor housing LOL!
But for the most part (just glancing) it seems the guy has some good info... interesting how they found out what a stock ct26 will spin to when the wastegate hose is...

Like the good doctor said, run it. Also, did you check to make sure that there wasn't any pressure pushing back into the cooling chamber (rising coolant level into the radiator?)
If the turbo continues it habits, send it back to me. A piece of FOD (foriegn object debris) may have...
