I just have to say, the rope idea is probably one of the most brilliant things I've ever heard of. It's worthy of being on one of those budweiser "Real men of genius" commercials! Mr. valve spring replacement rope idea inventor!
Hahaha! I roffled at your title.
What color is it? I'm going to take a wild guess and say your exhaust is leaking somewhere near the shifter boot, probably where the downpipe meets the cat. It could be as easy as changing a gasket or tightening some bolts, or you might have a hole in your...
IJ: No offense taken, I suppose you've figured it out by now though =) Just curious, how did you get your cars up on the curb...?
Reign: :puke:
Suprahero: I woulda thought you'd be one of them "camero" fans...
Thanks for the hair compliments. I never expected it to actually look good...
I thought it would only open at high oost when the wastegate was fully open but stupid me didn't think about the fact that the wastegate slowly opens throughout the boost range, not just when max boost hits. Hopefully the EBC I have on the way will help though =)
I used VHT interior dye and it turned out great, much better than I expected from dye in a can. Very durable, but you have to perp the surfaces very well since it actually soaks into the vinyl instead of covering it like paint.
:yelrotflm Too many men hitting on you? :gaybar:
Sad to see your blue car go, it's honestly the only light blue car I've ever liked. An M3 isn't a bad replacement though =)
:icon_lol: It's hilarious how everyone looks like about what you'd expect them to look like from their username and the posts they make. I'd be curious to find out what everyone's first name is too, I like trying to guess the names of strangers. Some people just look like a "Bob" or a "Jane!"...
You know, you bring up a good point. I had been trying to think of one good reason the open might be better than the recirculated... it really does make me stay light on the throttle! People around here are easily scared by loud noises so I have to keep quiet =)
Once again our cars prove they are tanks that in the end protect the owners when it counts, no matter how many little cuts and grazes they give us while we work on them =) Glad you're both pretty much ok. 70 km/h is pretty fast to be going head on into concrete O_o
Just my 2 cents...
Go with recirculated. I went with the open DDP and regret it due to loudness (some exhaust gases will still leak from the little wastegate tube when the gate is closed unless your metal plate is exactly flush with the turbo's exhaust housing). The power gains are supposed...
My harness has those bundles of spliced wires near the ECU. I don't think it's fire damage, I think it's someone swapping yellow plugs for grey plugs or vice versa. My plugs were grey for the ECU and were clearly spliced since all the engine to body harness connectors were still the yellow style...
Except a Toyota 22RE =)
And sadly, 7Ms aren't quite as stout as the JZs unless you build them right and take care of them, which doesn't happen that often.
+2
Though the color of his car sways my opinion a lot =) There are plenty of other ones I would probably put on an equal level if they were black. A certain blue one comes to mind... but the color of it means it loses approximately 129.3 cool points.
:yelrotflm:yelrotflm:yelrotflm:yelrotflm Melting rods!
You're not in the world of hondas and the occasional 240SX anymore =) Though if I remember correctly you had an SC400 for a while?
