i have never really waited beyond the final install time, and never really had a leak due to it not being set up, heat sets it faster.
but then again i might just be lucky....or slow.
my dent puller worked great , the pan now does not hit. picts
my dent puller
the first two pulls
the last pull
i will definatly replace it at a later date, but it will work fine for now.... the power steering on the other hand will not. it does not work at all so it is armstrong for now...
turning the motor by hand will not hurt anything. the puller should pull this out enough to get it off of the crank, if it doesnt it wont really matter as i am going to put a new pan on anyway. if it is like most toyota pans it is only 16ga sheetmetal.
my main concern is that there is nothing...
sounds like i have a pan, i definatly need the lines, my repair will only be temp. on them, i prefer to have the factory lines on it. where is our oil pump on the 7m? i dont know if il need the pickup. here is a pict
is that anywhere near the pump or the pickup , it is hitting the crank right...
stolen from another forum...to funny not to:evil2::evil2:
Two aliens landed in the Arizona desert near a gas station that was
closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the
younger alien addressed it saying, 'Greetings, Earthling. We come in
peace. Take us to your...
yes, i have, it isnt hitting that bad. sounds just like a rod knock though. didnt see the damage till after i started it(plastic undercover concieled the damage). you can only imagine the thoughts that entered my head after hearing it, new headgasket and all!
i plan to take the puller to the...
i will have to check that out!, im gonna pull the rack today and see about some brake line to do a temp fix on the rack, are the cars at the yard in a place where the rack is easy to get to? (ie the motor removed would make it super simple). i dont want to be a burden, but if it is close to you...
i feel the pain as i probably will not be driving mine either. so it will be the non a/c'd broncoII or the silvy (not a bad ride but elbow to elbow with 3), 20 sounds great. wouldent happen to have a rack laying around i could salvage the lines off of?
thanks 1j, i needed that info. so nothing...
im in grand forks. i will be able to meet you in fargo though as my womans kid lives there and we will be returning him from our weekend with him, u gonna be driving the supra? id love to see it. what do you want for the pan and pickup?
if i do that it will be down most of the summer, but it would be right. im not pulling it unless i go all out(fix everything, swap the trans) which i dont have the budget for right now as im to deep into my 311 fairlady build to stop. il know more tommorow when i try pulling on the pan.
aside from it hitting the crank. if i can get it to pull enough to not contact the crank i think il be fine for the summer. i plan to pull the engine this fall anyway to clean, repaint and regasket as it uuzes oil pretty much everywhere at the moment. so i could replace it then.
ya i know , the saddle on my jack broke! the car dropped about 1 ft and it landed on the pan. it still has oil pressure so i dont think there is any real damage to the engine. im sure the pan is screwed, but with only 3-4 months of driving season around here i dont really want my toy down all...
