Purchasing Toyota Select Fit Bearing set

Select fit bearings cannot be sold in a set, as it is specific to your engine. Other sizes are sold in sets. Jeff

86.5 Piston Rod Cap Torque Specs

To avoid confusion, in most cases, treat an 86 Supra as an 85 and an 86.5 Supra as an 87. Jeff

    Picture request: 1990+ cruise control

I 100% approve of the change in cruise control switches from 89 to 90. The stalk is way better. Personal preference I know, but I hate having cruise buttons on the front of the steering wheel. Toyota still uses this design to this day. Jeff

    Bearing selection

The bearing thickness needs to be doubled, because it is on both sides of the journal. Jeff

    Replacement Rear Body Panels

Yes harnesses are available. Quarter panels were up until recently. They are no longer available now though. Good thing I have a spare in my basement. Yay. ;) Jeff

    Factory 86.5 turbo?

There is no chance his will say MA71, as there is no chassis code MA71. Since his car is obviously a Japan-spec car, and they did not use 17-character VIN's in Japan. It will simply say MA70-xxxxxxx. That is correct. Japan had the 7M-GTE starting from the beginning. They never had the 7M-GE...

    Good tires for stock sawblades?

I really loved the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions, but they're no longer available. I've also used Falken Azenis RT615's and Toyo T1-R's. Both are quite good, not sure what will be going onto the Supra now that the S-03's are dying, but probably T1-R's. My brother's Supra has Toyo...

    1j driveshaft difference

Checked the part numbers, 1JZ shaft is a different part number than the 7M shaft. Also, the rear transmission mounting plate is also a different part number between the 1JZ and 7M. Jeff

    New Torsen for the MK3?

I verified some things before posting what I did: The side bearings are the same between the A70 and the JCE10. TRD lists the same LSD for the JCE10 and the A70 (41301-JX001), which means ring gear fitment should be correct, as well as the dimensions should fit the MA70 case. The only thing...

    New Torsen for the MK3?

Why not? Just find a crashed car with LSD? Jeff

    New Torsen for the MK3?

Retail is about $2500, I'd think you could get one from your local Lexus dealership within a few weeks. It seems it probably fit a few other cars as well (perhaps IS250 and GS300). I'll need to check into those. Not cheap new from Lexus though, that's for sure. Jeff

    New Torsen for the MK3?

41301-53020 Torsen LSD from a JCE10 Altezza Gita RWD and the USDM Lexus IS300 (01-05). Will definitely fit into the MA70 case, and I'm about 90% sure our axle stubs should fit it. Jeff

    Noob 1JZ/2JZ Q

It would be possible with some custom length rods, but it's easier and keeps a better rod ratio if you use a 2JZ block. Jeff

jdm ecu vs us ecu, how can you tell which is which?

Part number is the best way. If you have it, post the part number of the ECU you are planning on getting. Jeff
