T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

yeah, i had a fiddle and i get 5psi in first, im thinking my gear ratio has something to do with it ive got a W58 & god knows what gears but they're short! i think with a tune it should spool up a bit better, im going to try and adjust the actuator anyway /test it with boost

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

removed my actuator hose and went for a quick drive, turbo spools a little quicker but not great, maybe its just a big turbo? a tune should help, might try adjusting the linkage anyway to see if it makes any difference.

you are correct, if i determine that the actuator opens at 8psi using a pump & pressure gauge then ill fiddle with the linkage, when i pulled it apart initially the wastegate was shut, but how tight is the question, perhaps 1 or 2 turns would correct it. it warrants more testing before i go...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

like i said yesterday somethings not right with the actuator, i can only build 1-3psi in 1st. at 8psi i cannot even hear it spool/doubt its working very hard. i've got a few other cars to work on in the next few days so not sure when ill get a chance to fix the actuator issue (plan to remove...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

is that the bov ? it came with my car, yeah its pretty loud and im not using it till it vents back into the intake system need to get a fitting for it and some hose., slows the car down due to venting measured air. I didn't have to modify the heatshield, previous owner made a mess of it trying...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

yes, afm will be going away soon, ive got a haltech e6x (internal 2.5bar map) i'm NOT passing 8psi as is. Mods: Gizzmo Electronic boost controller, 3" exhaust from turbo back, single straight through muffler, divorced down pipe, 600x300x100 Front mount intercooler, %100 rebuilt motor with 3...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

mines fitted, few things to note, its longer than the ct26 so i had to redo some hoses to the accordion hose, but everything else is a nice fit and id say yes its easy to fit, started it up and the top oil fitting (crimped) leaked, so its not operational atm, on monday ill be taking the hose...

#3 Piston and Rod gets Booted out of the game!

could have had back ground noise? such as tyre squeal and exhaust noises!

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

im fitting mine this weekend, i took down everything i had to the hose shop and hopefully they'll hand me back a set of exactly length oil lines. should have it operational soon, ill be running it on the stock actuator boost(8psi) for the time being. (DDP as well) ill have it dyno'd like this...

4th connector plug on 7mgte engine harness

Hi Guys, I've got no pictures atm but i can post some tonight if needed. I've searched all of the wiring diagrams (and have printed out/taped together) from the TSRM and i've skimmed over all the pages in the body electrical section with no luck. perhaps ive missed it? Background...

    Quick wiring harness question

i'm using a auto harness with a manual my O/D light flashes on the dash (no over drive and it atleast says M/T on the TCCS) it has a few round plugs and one has a loop back, i have no reverse light but i'm removing the whole loom soon for my aftermarket ecu so ill fix that!,

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

with a larger turbo there is less back pressure built up anyway, yes the wastegate is larger than stock when i can be bothered ill measure it

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

I've decided to run it as is and see how long it lasts... the accordion hose will not stretch over the inducer. i used some 3" silicon hose to bridge it and used polyurethane to ensure a seal (its only vacuum anyway) here is another comparison photo

    Thinking of a big project

The concept behind it is to spool the turbo quicker then turn the supercharger off as the turbo is the main power maker. as you can see the torque curve has moved significantly, as a result its not such a big punch in the face and the wheels like to grip a little better, he was aiming for a more...

    Thinking of a big project

yeah, it uses a 1 way valve, the excess air from the turbo is not routed through the supercharger, he put alot of research into it and the result is amazing. Except the car has absolutely 0 traction ! That's a Australian delivered RB30 as they fitted it to our commodores. its SOHC too. either...

    Thinking of a big project

This is my good friends twin charged RB30, don't flame me because its a Nissan motor, its similar and the facts are relevant. its running in a "holden commodore" its a opal shell pretty much 15psi by 2500rpm and 20psi by 3000rpm with a GT35, its a interesting setup, the charger draws air...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

we can only speculate on the quality of parts without actual failure/testing, (given its manufactured location) to me the wheels look roughly cast, where as the Toyota/ garret wheels are nicely finished off after the casting process.
