T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

What exactly did you do out of curiosity? Can't really tell from the pictures, Looks like you cut off the side of the flapper support, Mine kept getting jammed on the disc that covers the waste gate hole not on the actual arm, Did you have any movement in the assembly like mine? Sorry misread...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

NO! if you're talking about blocking off the coolant lines for the turbo, its apart of the cooling system it needs to be bypassed not blocked off, connect both outlets via a hose, see below look at the coolant line And as for that ebay oil kit, it looks alright with the flanges but id prefer...

    Paradox's 7mgte mk3

Looking at a spec twin plate at the moment, they claim it will hold 900ft/lb in its basic form (SST) and according to them its strapped so it won't be overly noisey. comes with a push/pull converter too and is one of the cheaper of the lot of twin plates, Has anyone had experience with the spec...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Good point, Forgot to mention there is no place to bolt the dip stick up to, mines floating about at the moment. could weld a nut to the turbo core, I'm not all that fussed about it atm. I plan to take mine back to the tuners in the next few months to ramp it up to about 22psi, see if i cant...

I used a -4 teflon steel braided feed line, Banjo into the block and threaded into the oil restrictor provided in the kit, for the return i used a -10 rubber steel braided hose with barbed fittings, for the turbo its a standard T4 return flange and for the block flange i used a stock hard...

    Paradox's 7mgte mk3

89+ velour blue, the interior i got was from a non-aero so i took the brown panels and vinal dyed the top half, the idea is, you don't touch it anyway. that was a year ago, its holding good still :) i then re trimmed the roof card inserts myself. looks pretty good i think :) Interior cost me...

Metal Head Gasket leaking Before Engine Start. ??

That's like saying, i didn't machine my flywheel when I changed my clutch because it didn't slip. This is what happens when you cut corners...i should know, i made this mistake my self once before and learnt the hard way that Metal Head gaskets have VERY little tolerance to imperfect surfaces...

    so the famous torque question

torque required depends on lubricant used. I've always used moly-graphite lube and followed the ARP torque recommendations, Are you using new stock head bolts or planning to reuse the stock stretched ones.? I've also found it beneficial to run the right sized thread tap into the block threads...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Thanks :) Does your flapper have movement in it? is it brand new? I thought of a tack weld first but IJ thought a grub screw was the best way to tackle it.

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Nah sorry I don't, only what's posted here. Sorry but I really can't be bothered pulling the turbo off to take more pictures and even if i could be bothered, im not sure i could take any that would help you. I'm pretty sure IJ didn't tap the hole just screwed it in. Perhaps ill draw you a ms...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

google is your friend Drilled a hole in the housing all the way to the outer bearing, and screwed this all the way in until it contacted the outer bearing and secured it in place.

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Easy, i took the turbo, handed it to IJ and it was fixed :P took no longer than about 10-20 minutes? He just drilled a hole through the housing on the flange surface and installed a grub screw, you only need to secure the outer bearing to stop the movement. I guess if you're shooting for...
