T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Ahh k sorry for some reason i though you said you weren't making any boost. Mine would have been back on the road yesterday however i had some issues with the thrust bearing so had to pull the gearbox again. possibly another week and ill get to test the results and my drive line will be ready...

Os Giken Push pull converter thrust bearing replacement?

Hi Guys, So i picked up a os giken push pull converter for my R154 gearbox, the thrust (release/throwout) bearing was shagged, i got a clutch shop to replace it. the one they used was a larger profile (in depth) and as a result when bolted up the thrust bearing pressed on the clutch fins...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

I run a Gizzmo closed loop EBC, made a big improvement in spooling. I believe the reason these turbo's don't see anything past 5psi on the actuator is due to incorrect preload when shipped. CBatstone, I had your issue, what happens is the wastegate opens, the assembly drops and gets jammed open...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Yeah i agree, no new dyno yet because my cars been off the road for 2 months as my clutch couldn't handle the new found power. i see full boost before 5000rpm. Either way i'll have a new graph soon but to be honest its not on the top of my list as id rather have everything perfect before i send...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

I'll get a nice long video when it's back on the road in a few days. I found 2 issues, 1) boost leaks 2) waste gate pre-load was insufficient.

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

my cars been sitting in my garage for the last 2 months while i collected the pieces, It's been expensive. my clutch did not last long with 400rwhp... I've collected R154 Os Giken twin plate push pull converter R154 tailshaft I'll be getting the car back on the road in the next week and down...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

what magical dyno graph are you talking about? i have not had mine dyno'd since fixing my waste gate issue and fixing quite a few boost leaks and fixing my leaking bov but i can tell you its significantly improved since then but you'd know that if you read all the posts before adding your 2c, on...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

I'd have to agree, a smaller exhaust wheel would be nicer, Don't forget the quality of pump gas depends on your region, we can get much high octane petrol down here from the pump. Cbatstone, Never had that issue with mine. it is a tight fit, Maybe try using a thinner silicon coupler.

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

IJ, Cheers :) i might give it a shot. Exactly, From my calculations the turbo is just entering its peak efficiency at the boost levels i'm running, I'm seeing no change in charge temperature on boost which confirms this. My readings were taken on a Dyna pack so the output will be lower than a...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Nice job relocating the actuator! I agree, Something to note, at 5psi i made 180rwkw or 241rwhp which is as much power as others have made @ 11psi on a ct26! I think I'm going to pressurise the compressor housing of the turbo as I suspect it leaks (a small amount) some turbo's run a O-ring...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

That what's the silicon sealers for, I will be the first to admit its not the best setup but it will do until i can make up a new one. plus drawing in "un metered air" isn't an issue for me as i don't run a afm or a TCCS because i use a map sensor/aftermarket ecu setup :P

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

Mine didn't, i used a bit of 3" silicon which slipped over the accordion and the inducer, i used a silicon gasket maker to seal it from dust etc (its under vacuum anyway not boost), if you had a accordion hose in good condition i'm sure it might fit. I plan to replace it with 3" piping as soon...

    Ct-26 Oil lines

I've always removed the turbo and oil lines together by unbolting the lines at the block and removing the banjo bolt for the feed, never had any issues with them bending or going out of shape. Each to their own. Are you sure the AN fitting is on the hose correctly?

    Ct-26 Oil lines

This may sound like a stupid question but did you use a gasket on the oil flange? Also why did you replace the factory hard lines? They are far superior than any braided lines you can get and as a bonus shouldn't leak.

    upgrading old ct26 to t61?

ct26 is the perfect size for a stocker...You'll only add unnecessary lag with a larger turbo at stock boost levels.

    Question about ECUs

What month in 88? FYI - late 88 was classified as a 89+, Different ECU Plugs, Look up pin outs for both and you'll see what I mean. Take some pictures so we can see what you're talking about.

sure did, added more actuator preload so it opens at 12psi now, spools alot quicker, i know...

    57 trim ct-26 Dyno

Larger turbo = more flow, boost = resistance to flow. AFM measures on CFM (actual flow) not PSI, you can work the rest out yourself... Nice numbers, what's the response like on the street? got any video's? FYI - Standalone is the only way to go.

Aussie MKIII chitchat! (all welcome) NWS

Anyone got a twin plate lying around that will work with a 7mgte + R154? I'd be interested in buying it!
