The reason I dont think it is worth money is in their own words. No oil will get around to lub the bearings until the crank is rotating. The crank rotating creates low pressure in front of it that lets the oil flow. Any pre-luber will put pressure their, but you will not enter the hydrodynamic...
Rod knock sounds quite a bit like valve noise, only louder. Many things can cause the knocking noise, where a shaft is spinning with too much clearance. Waterpump, alternator, crankshaft, etc...
Chances are if the tab is broken, somebody tried to slim jim into the car, and the anti-theft shut down the starter like it supposed to.
The tab is put where it is easily broken off the latching mechanism.
Do you really want to remove it?
For all practical purposes, there is no "USDM", all 7M's are made in Japan. Some are just fitted for emissions. The ECU's have some differences, nothing worth buying though.
Yep.
If the tach drops you are likely losing the ignition pickup. In the wiring diagram I think Toyota calls it NE signal. I dont have it in front of me to check though.
Make sure the cam positioning sensor is plugged in good, and the pins are not bent over. There are also checks in the repair...

I know what you mean and agree completely. A Z06 type performing car was NEVER Toyotas intention of our Supra(MA70). The Japanese supercar market shifting brought out the JZA80. So Toyota took away our very well around mannered car and gave us the Lex SC. I am speaking only of our markets, not...
It is cailbrated. It is just Toyota overdoing everything in the name of smoothness. When the injector opens, there is a small momentary "dead spot" in the fuel. The pulsation dampener keeps it more steady, so the fuel is more constant. Then the car will run slightly smoother.
