    Draining a battery

Do what jetjock said. Put a meter in between the ground post of the battery and the ground strap. Make sure the doors are shut and everything is off. You should not have more than 50 miliamps draw.

    Who makes a good battery?

AC Delco manufactured batterys for some time. With GM selling off the division, I don't know if they still do. And Interstate was made by Johnson Controls. So AC Delco is the one you were missing jdub. They made their own label, the Wal Mart battery and a few others. They even did the Die Hard...

Why do supras HG always blow anyway?

The Toyota sludge problem is about as real as Audi's unintended accleration problem. As I read a bit of the nonsense, the 5SFE was used in literally millions of cars. More than just the Camry. So why is only the Camry listed?

anyone own a 93 corolla? or one with the same engine?

Jeff, I worked at Toyota at 3 dealers in 2 states. Nobody called it the TSRM. It is simply the repair manual, or more commonly "the book". But then dealers can be different. I was home in Ohio. I walked into the better of the two dealers buying a few parts. I also asked for FIPG. He brings...

    IDLE PROBLEM HELP

I think you have a vapor lock problem. You could have a weak pump, pressure regulator that is bad, ECT sensor issues, or even the vacuum switching valve for hot starts. Read the information in the following link. It is the factory electrical wiring diagram. It explains those inputs and the...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

Ummm.... There are two many edumacated people here that recognize a used car sales pitch when they see it. Really? This is the internet. I know there are many retards that don't use the forum search function, but debunking a bullshiter is not very hard thanks to google.

    A340E and HP questions!

If you don't do the valve body mod and want to spend some money, this looks like a good place to do it. They do the valve body and strengthen the internals. http://www.importperformancetrans.com/toyotaauto.shtml I will be doing it down the road sometime.

Oil pressure questions for a GE

Yes and no. 4.3 psi or higher at idle. When your rpm has increased, the volume of oil trying to be stuffed through the clearance goes up, so the pressure goes up. Then the relief on the oil cooler opens. The GE does not have the oil cooler.

anyone own a 93 corolla? or one with the same engine?

Because Jeff, on the library of Toyota manuals, not one of them says service on it. Refering to the title. They are repair, service, specs, overhaul, etc. I am trying to think if the other additions like the transmission does, the overhaul manuals, and I don't think they do either.

Why do supras HG always blow anyway?

Do you think it is coincidence that only leased vehicles had a sludge problem? That is a rhetorical question.

    Which 2jz engine have vvti

Here is how good variable cam timing is. It is the best automotive invention in a long long time. Learn about the cam, and then you will realize why it is so good. The new Mustang with its 3 valve head,(80's Honda technology) is outpowering the outgoing 4 valve supercharged engine when the 3...

NA intake cam Question for 7m-gte

I left out that the GE cam is made to promote scavenging on a naturally aspirated engine. That is why it has shorter duration(the amount of time the valve is open), leading to less overlap and lower cylinder pressure. Keep in mind the GE cam profile changed to the Cressida cam. They are not...

    12v mod

Big A is right on the money. The 12V is just for loads, even on the stock pump. It keeps it from wearing out sooner. If you are stand alone, or making significant power over stock, then that is different.

    Military Body Armor

In a fan clutch? I don't know if that is how this suit works. It just sounds like a viscous coupler used in many automotive applications.

Oil pressure questions for a GE

My last 7MGE idled a little above the bottom mark when warm (4.3psi). When driving, it never went over the 40 mark. There is only one part number for oil pumps now. It has been that way for a while. So the relief valve is set to the same pressure. Back in 1987 they were different. Dr Jonez...
