Light miss at steady cruise? Did you examine your basic tune up parts to see what they look like? Pulled DTC's? Put an inline fuel pressure gauge on the car? Over oiled your K&N lately?

Well, the exhaust is filling up with fuel, that is what causes a muffler explosion. That kind of makes me think you are excessively rich. Did yo check any codes or look at the number one spark plug? I wonder if you are not getting decel fuel cut for some reason.

TKA, you need to be careful asking a probably one time certified tech how to fix it. Because you know mechanics are always stupid and don't know anything. Just try it yourself.

That pin is called a dowel pin. It makes the gear be in time with the lobes. A shortblock is a block wtih pistons installed. A long block is a short block with the head installed. ( I didn't read wiki, if they differ, they are wrong...again) Clearances on the Supra are nothing special...
