And then there is variable geometry manifolds like with Toyota's ACIS, where valves inside reflect the air pulse after the valve closes, back to the intake valve, creating a mild supercharging effect. A short runner can not effectively fill the cylinder at low rpm, and the longer one can not...
All ring and pinions are factory matched sets. It would be faster to change the whole thing.
I can change the ring and pinion, set pinion depth, and set backlash. Do you know how to do that? Do you have a press for the bearing?
There is very little wrong with this car as intended from the factory. The only thing is all of you that have gotten your hands on them. Those of you in this category know who you are, and those who are not know who you meat heads are.
Both of the items listed are owner neglect.
I was thumbing through a new(to me) Turbo magazine. It had all the usual suspects of build ups. When they did the 2JZ-GTE this time, the owner mentioned he dumped $126,000 into the car so far. For 950 rwhp.
FFIM do not clean up the bay. That has to be the biggest false justifications I know of. It is an opinion. And I have lots of those too.
Adding top end with shorter runners and a larger plenum so as to not starve the engine when the valves are only open for micro seconds is why it is done.
Apparently I did.
Sell the car. I did. Well, I bought mine at 21, sold at 23 realizing I could not afford to maintain the car. Swinging a small car payment is one thing. Fixing a luxury GT is something else. No shame in it.

Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.
I have asked others that get into this sort of thing, and when the HKS big bore kit (85mm pistons) was still sold, the block was often compromised. It just was not intended by Toyota. You...
I think your an idiot. And full of crap. If you could afford this, buy a house instead. Or a Ford GT, and change the twin screw to Kenne Bell, or turbocharge. At least it won't break.
Lingenfelter Vettes need to be rebuilt. The engine can't handle it. Fast though. Turbo Viper, eh, it is still...
When the car is cold, the computer runs the air fuel mixture richer, as it is easier to light against the cold air.
You lose that advantage when the car is at operating temps. So being cold can hide the need for tune up parts.
Your tire and wheel setup looks fantastic.
I have seen some pics like that. They look good.
I will still go with the JZA80 wheel, possibly 17 x 8 all the way around with 245's. It will be better than stock, and people that actually have the 17 x 9.5 for sale, they often act stupid. Like...
I like his upgrade. It is purely asthetic, something I don't normally go for. But a clean engine bay is important. But not at the expense of function. His is really good.
