How so? Did Larry, Curly, or Moe tell you that? EGR is inert gas. Yes it is hot, but still inert. It is put into the intake tract. This displaces usable air, causing a slight misfire compared to not having it. This lowers combustion temperatures, which lowers NOx, which is formed from high temps.

If we knew the lobe seperation angle, that would be a large piece of the puzzle. Not that duration isn't.

Nice looking car. Would you do us a favor? Look at the firewall at the chasis code. On LHD models, it says MA70-xxxxxx, a serial number. Those are parts of the VIN. Does yours say JZA70-xxxxxxxxx? I ask out of curiosity from those that insist on an MA71 chasis. This still wouldn't prove...

Good to see it is going to get restored, at least from an engine point of view. Are you going to use the Toyota engine overhaul gasket set? It is pricey, and has a headgasket in it. But it also has everything you need. The FIPG only goes on certain spots, and the oil pan.

I think that most are uh, not straight. Nice way of putting it. Not to say they all look like Lamarossa. It seesms like most are auto and targa. But that doesn't make it so.

Or put the EGR on... I don't know what he or you said, but the TPS tells the ECU the drivers intention.

Do you want over drive and how fast do you intend to go down the quarter mile? IPT tells you the trans is good for 10 flat and above, and to go domestic if you are serious and want to go faster. You might search nosechunks. He was looking into a GM overdrive trans, but I don't know how that went.

Same block, same crank, same pistons, same rods, same head, same cams, same manifolds... See above about EGR passages being blocked.
