That isn't an engine vacuum line. It is ported vacuum. Meaning you have open the throttle plate. Vacuum can be found at the boost pressure sensor. I say that one because it is easy to see and access.

In the mid 90's (I think) Toyota changed their composite gaskets on everything. The 4Runner was recalled for the gasket. Toyota redid all of them, but only the 4Runner was recalled. The 7M has nothing on the 3VE. You will at least want the newer style composite and proper head torque.

There are several factors in play. His higher compression engine does in fact matter. His turbocharger responds much quicker. He leaves at 6 psi. I leave at idle and engine vacuum. And I have 3.73, not his 4.30. My car is 2.1 seconds behind his when I used the CT26 with my stock turbo engine...
