I burned one up once, on a 7MGE. I leaned out the motor after decking the head for compression. I did the opposite of the regular air flow meter mod, and tightend up the spring a little bit.
What don't you get? The 12V mod can't stop working. Somebody can wire it poorly, and lose conductivity, but the mod can't actually fail I am just making sure you understand how it works.

There is no supposedly about not getting IGF. 12 means the ECU is not recieving the pick up signal from the CPS. A 20 year old car can easily have wiring issues like brittle, corrosion, or broken.
It is none of your business. I don't mean that in a snotty way, but you have no reason to know...anything about what somebody else bought in the past. I know you want history of the car, and they might want to share. I mean from a liberty point of view.
