Randy's putting a huge push to finish the bodywork over the next month or so. I found some other photos on his website that give a good view of these amazing wheels in the daylight! (I have the center caps for them too)
In case you missed my LED thread...
I bought some hinges off eBay, and to get them to fit will require lots of custom modification, brackets, let alone having the hinge pin re-machined to get the slack out of it. I'm 50/50 as to if I want to do it still.
Their "Real Carbon Fibre +20%" option looks decent to me. Check out the curves and contours in this photo. Surely the contours are preformed? I don't think a real carbon fibre sticker could do that, I've bought a sheet before and it was rigid as heck. (Silver carbon pic)
I'm seriously looking at this one: ACT Supra XTSS - Xtreme w Street Disc Clutch Kits
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Toyota/Supra_86-92/ACT/Clutch/Clutch_Kits/part/XTSS_-_Xtreme_w_Street_Disc
But it seems that no one here has tried this kit? I've read that it is about 2600 lbs, so the...
I got my wheels from this place: http://www.cannonball-r.com/info.html.
They had imported them from Japan and were selling them on eBay. Maybe give them a call and see if they can get other JDM wheels in?
I would love to submit pics of my widebody project, once it is complete in a couple of months. It will be 100% show quality with new paint and flawless bodywork.
I tend to agree, although I don't think they're too round, the slope and shape of the rear fender is too altered. My widebody project is using Kaze rear fenders from Japan. There are very expensive, but they follow the stock lines better.
I got a quote from Tein to revalve my shocks, and it would be $400 plus shipping. I may as well just buy the Flex's and sell my SS's, its gonna cost me the same either way. Do the Flex's work with the EDFC?
Thanks for the tip. What is the stock spring rate, just for curiosity?
The factory Tein SS springs feel only slightly softer than the cut coils on my beater Mk2 :) I've got the EDFC controller, and it seems like my choices are "too stiff" or "way too stiff"
I own both a Mk2 and a Mk3. The difference in weight, and how LIGHT the Mk2 feels is immense. It would definately be a handful with a high HP 7M. Ironically the rear seats are much roomier, and the hatch is massive, even though its a smaller car.
My Tein SS coilvers are too stiff for my liking, even on the softest shock setting. Tein USA says I can swap out the existing springs:
16kgf/mm(895lbs/in) front
9kgf/mm(504lbs/in) rear
to this:
14kgf/mm(783lbs/in) front
7kgf/mm(391lbs/in) rear
Any less would require re-valving the...
Don't some guys install a spark plug into the tail pipe? When you rev, and blow off to atmosphere, it should spew lots of unburnt gas is you're running a stock or lexus air meter, but you'll likely need a spark to ignite it reliably. Might blow up your muffler though :)
