Dude - Code 14 is pretty specific...it's one of two codes that cuts the fuel injectors off...in this case if the IGf signal is not received by the ECU. Might want to learn a little more about the EFI system on this car or you will forever be "swapping parts" in a futile effort to find what's wrong.
Kai - Do you have access to Pennzoil Platinum in the UK? They make both 5W-30 and 5W-40 Euro grades...it's very good. From what I can see on the Castrol Magatech it's a good Group III oil, but IMO, the Pennzoil Platinum is better due to the additive pack. Pennzoil has made excellent progress...
Quote from JetJock's write-up:
"Finally, at the moment the coil pack fires, the ignitor sends an ignition confirmation signal (IGf) back to the ECU to inform it firing did indeed take place. The IGf signal is derived from the secondary high voltage of the coil pack (it's waveform shares nearly...
edi - the oil that's "best" for your car may very well be a 30W multi-grade. It depends on what your pressure is at 3000 rpm at operating temp. You want an oil that gives you 10 psi pressure rise per 1000 rpm...due to the 7M oil system, that works out to be around 40-50 psi at 3000 rpm. The...
Arz and Slo are correct...the OD for the TB is 2.75"...you will need a 2.75" to 2.5" reducer to fit the piping. TB's are measured at the plate (connects to the linkage) inside...that's where the 61mm came from ;)
My dumb ass completely missed you were trying to replace your IC piping and mate...
Yeah, I know you didn't do the "blend"...just wanted to point it out, it's not a good idea ;)
Here's the spec for the 0W-40 Castrol Edge Sport oil:

Jeez guys...code 51 is the IDL signal used by the ECU for fuel cut-off control...a lot of times it is TPS adjustment. Code 41 is completely different...it's the VTA signal used by the ECU to increase fuel injector volume to increase engine power output or a problem with the TPS or it's circuit...
At idle, warm...the 1st mark is good, a bit high if anything...the TRSM says 4.3 psi or greater. Most high mileage motors show half what you have at idle. 40 psi warm at 3000 rpm is also in TRSM spec...toward the low side a bit, but still in spec. Not unusual for a high mileage motor due to...
Here we go again ;)
The 1st mark at idle is 20 psi (on US cars)...what is your oil pressure at 3000 rpm, hot and cold?
For the miles on your car, a 40W is likely appropriate...your pressure at idle is actually good warm, but is on the high side cold. That tells me the oil you are using...
The exhaust studs (turbo included) use a crown type lock nut...that's what the slots at the top are for. Yours may have expanded at the top...get some new ones from the dealer. Or compress yours slightly with a big pair of channel locks.
The mesh is there mostly for looks...it does provide some additional support, but not a whole lot. I wanted you to see what not to get.
Yes and the rubber hangers also allows the exhaust system to move when you hit bumps in the road. Or if you happen to bottom out the downpipe. I use a...
Since you are going to build a turbo motor and will have to buy a gasket kit anyway, get a Toyota gasket kit...it comes with a stock HG that you will not use on the turbo motor. Use it on the NA to get it running and keep the rest for your build.
When you do the HG job on the NA, you will...
This is what you want:

Note the inside has the solid flex...the outside is a mesh reinforcement.
This is what you don't want...
A lot of testosterone in this thread ;)
Here's a perspective from an "old" military guy:
If you're not prepared, out gunned, out numbered, or running low on ammo...a tactical retreat is the smart thing to do.
If you're cornered, use all available firepower to take them out.
It's...
^^^ Yep!!!
Seriously man...do a few searches before you ask. You're pretty new here and I don't want to come across as an ass, but this question has been beat to death.
