Lol. I almost made a similar comment but decided I might get spanked.
You can use analysis for two things: 1) To monitor engine wear and 2) To monitor oil health for extended changes. It won't detect some types of failures though. Those that shed metal larger than a certain size for example...
He's talking about oil analysis. Shows wear metals, oil condition, etc. Click on his link. I've also used Blackstone for years, mostly for aircraft. I'm thinking of investing in my own spectrometer since they come up on ebay once in a while. They're a bit spendy though.
Cuel is right. The battery needs to be properly charged. Most people either charge a battery too little when dead or jump start the engine. Both are bad practices that can lead to damaged batteries/charging systems even when done "right". That said you may well need a new battery by now anyway...
Your profile says you're 19 ;)
Anyway, I walked into a dealership in June of 1987 (a long time ago) and drove it home after plunking down $25K. Not a very exciting story...
My two cents: The code 51 is going to cause an idle problem because as long as it's there the idle speed control system is disabled.
On the other hand it should have nothing to do with low idle after a cold start because the ISCV steps fully open at engine shutdown regardless of whether the...
^ It's "you're". As in "You'd better be sure if you ever post something related to my area of expertise you're 100% right or I'll make you look even more like a moron than you do now". Proper grammar is important...
No no, thank you. I'll take that piece of wisdom under advisement and let you know. Lmao..
See, there are stupid people in this community. Not inexperienced, not unfamiliar with cars, not even ignorant. Just outright stupid. Many don't have a lick of common sense either.
The truth is I bite...
Your problem is AFM related. The TPS is fine. Not to mention it won't cause that symtom even if it was bad.
What "reference" voltages are you referring to? Vc or the standard test voltages in the TRSM? If Vc than 4.9 is good. If standard voltages 4.9 is bad, especially if you're referring to...
The IDL contact is staying on when you press the pedal. Usually adjusting the TPS won't fix that (not enough range in the holes) but you can try. See how much pedal it takes to get a code 51 with the engine off and in diag mode. If you never get one all the adjusting in the world isn't going to...
Not to give him too much hope but I repaired one of these about 6 years ago. The owner had ignored the knocking for some time and the crank was even a little more chewed up than this. There was normal wear metals in the oil and the engine is still running fine today.
Well, that link you posted is for a GE. You're turbo. Different situation. All you can check on a GTE pack is primary resistance and resistance to the ground plane.
Not good? That's how it should be. Fwiw you can't measure the secondary itself because of the high voltage diodes in it.
Basics first. Do as Doward said and check for spark any way you can. Try and not let the packs fire open circuit though. Use a plug or something. If no spark check the...
It's possible for the CPS to cause a 14 but rare. It's usually from something being wrong on the "other" side of the ECU, on the ignition side of the system. Every time a plug fires the ECU gets told it happened. If it doesn't it'll shut the injectors down. Bottom line is no spark at times or...
