Ok...now I understand ;)
You will have to swap the '88 harness back into the car...and the '88 ECU. Sorry, but the manual harness is not compatible with an auto tranny (as you figured out). You may have to swap some of the sensors from your old motor to the new one, depending if the...
He's right about the thermostat having nothing directly to do with the fan clutch...a lower temp thermostat can delaying the coolant getting hot and pulling hot air over the clutch to cause it to function. Yours sounds like it needs a re-build or get a new one.
However, a lower temp...
No...it will not. The coolant thermostat has no direct effect on when a belt driven fan functions...the clutch has that task, read this:

Matt - That motor looks awesome man...the polish really ups the "bling" factor by a huge margin.
Yeah...I saw the parts I did ;)
Should have had your water neck done to match...LOL
Yep...they sure do. Even though the EGR helps reduce cylinder temps thereby preventing detonation, has zero effect on increasing HP, and increases production of one of the most noxious pollutants a car can produce. Makes sense to me :icon_conf
Hmmm...and I'm the one on a high horse because I know what it does? Do you have a clue as to what that VSV does? If so, please fill us in...your reasons for removing it and the benefits of doing so would be good.
Got news for ya, the VSV is a cost...Toyota would not have put it in unless it...
Good for you...I was mistaken that the hot start fuel pressure up VSV was a desired piece of equipment.
Must be nice to be so much smarter than the engineers that designed the EFI system in this car ;)
Ahhh...I stand corrected. The Moroso filter looks pretty good...especially for the pressures you guys are running ;)
Edit: BTW - do you guys happen to know at what psi the by-pass opens in the Moroso filter?
Just because you flushed the radiator doesn't mean that some of the cooling channels inside aren't clogged up ;)
As far as I know, the rad caps are the same for the Turbo & NA.
Ummm...not true. The stock clutch/fan moves more than enough air for the 7M radiator. Replacing it with electric fans has to be done correctly (thermostat control, relays, shroud, etc) or you will have more trouble than it's worth.
