    Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

    The only thing I can say about this is that both of the Miatas I had were quite nice cars. However, they weren't nearly as comfortable and quiet... different beast I guess, but strictly speaking from a reliability comparison standpoint, the Supras might as well be Yugos.

    I used to think along the same lines of weigh transfer, but sometimes you gotta think a bit backwards. :) If you lock up your fronts (too much front brake bias), you're going to merely slide in whatever direction the momentum will carry you. If you still can steer, and lock up your rear wheels...

    Pass. Snow has been on the ground here for at least 2-3 weeks now, and while the majority of it has gotten off the roads, it's still nice and brown/black from all the filth on the roads that gets stuck to the snow. The stuff's only pretty until people get around it... That, and it was -9*F...

    I see your logic here, but this will generally cause understeer. Front wheels lock up when they have more brake bias, whereas the rear tires will lock up (and initiate a slide) if you have more rear bias. ;)

    Got all golds on your B-license? Congrats man, I think that makes you number two so far on here. I got the B all golds, and half of the A-license with all gold, the others silver and closing in WAY close on most of the times. I imagine the IC license is going to be hell to get golds though...

    Sounds like my old 88, you lucky bastards... I wouldn't remove the factory stuff if it's already in place, I'll take an extra 20lbs of sound deadening to my car in place of a droning headache. ;) To the OP, I would leave it in if it's already in place, if it's the original stuff, it should do...
