MK3 Front End Convertion to MK2

I have both, and trust me, the Mk2 and 3 are two completely different cars, with *some* similarities. The original car in question here, while well done... I just dunno what to think about it. Kinda like it, but at the same time, kinda don't. I like the end result and the quality of work...

Epic first post in jeep thread!

Who said this OP was a girl? I seem to remember something on an older season of Top Gear that listed the 10 vehicles most driven by boys who like other boys... and the Jeep was on there. :p Little cold to be sleeping in the garage this time of year isn't it Grim?

    most prestine supra*

Beautiful. That thing's cleaner than my car on GT5. I like how they call it "used" haha... Bet those Gatorback tires are in need of replacement though...

    My 1JZ swap. Help appreciated

Basically, look at it this way: Replace EVERYTHING that you don't want to replace when the engine is IN the car. I've replaced a couple coolant lines for the turbos in the car, because I neglected to replace them when we were reassembling the engine, and that wasn't all that fun. Not horrible...

    2JZ-FSE into a Mk3??

Makes enough sense to keep the block the same, why go to the trouble of making new tooling to make ONE new engine that's only in a very small handful of cars? Seems cost prohibitive... my money's on them being the same block. Internals might be different (pistons for sure), but the block should...

    If I were to mention....

You probably won't notice 60lbs extra on the nose if the engine sits further back, from a balance perspective. :)

Quick Opinions on my current problem.

I think it goes without saying that you should get that oil out of there yesterday. Never a bad idea to inspect the bottom end and make sure your bearings are in good shape still too. Also be a good time to replace the oil pump if that's original too...

Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

No offense taken Fig, I was still in grade school back then, didn't get my chance at a Supra until late 2005. I think my youngest Supra was at least 17 years old by the time I bought it, and all it needed was a new cooling system (straight water and Wyoming winter temps don't do previous owners...

    Nerves....

Eh, it could blow at any time, just like any other car, new, old or indifferent. Just make sure you can trust the car and know your way around working on it a bit before you try to take any long trips in it... Hell, I was about to take a 2000 mile road trip in my current car the day after we...

    2011 Mustang GT

Good question, hopefully Ford will have a good answer soon. New Cobra perhaps? Myself, I'm still hoping (beyond, it seems, hope) that Toyota will toss their beige coat aside for a Sparco suit one of these days in response to all these other sporty cars that have been coming down the pipeline...

    post pics of your interior

You guys should be VERY proud of yourselves, it's quite obvious that you put a lot of time and energy into what you did there. Might I ask what it's like driving in it? Maryland is a bit far for me to come hang out and hear for myself. ;) Sorry to disappoint Rodel, was planning on a rear...

For Speaker Sizes and Questions Click Here

Sorry I didn't see your question sooner Diego. I test fit the set of Polk DB501 that I bought to put in the rear of the car, and they fit just fine. Granted, not all speakers are the same, so it's best to measure the speaker pods before you buy speakers. Alternatively, KevinM had a group buy on...

Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

Very true Poodles, it's kinda refreshing though, driving such a simple car. A better comparison (and just as reliable) would be the old Corolla GT-S. Still a lot of fun, but with a completely different purpose in mind.

C12's look nice too. Would look quite at home on a Merc.

    OMG yay SNOW!!

I wanna ride a snow dinosaur... Thanks for the degree symbol shortcut Kangae, I know quite a handful of them, but never ventured up past 200... Anyway, driving on snow and ice with summer tires is something of a joke. If I lived in Phoenix, where it *does* snow once in a decade or so, I...

    7m or 1jz

Georgia shut down a long time ago, their Denton, TX location seems to be winding down though. I emailed them a while back (like 2 months ago) because they kinda quit bringing in new inventory and just sold off what they had... :(

    2JZ-FSE into a Mk3??

Only thing I would consider doing through the ports on this thing would be water injection, as a supplement. But I promise you, you could get injectors that would suit a boosted application of this engine. Might have to be a custom setup from RC or something though...
