Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

An entire car may not meet USDM regulations (thinking safety reasons mostly), but an engine seems silly. Like why we never got any of Nissan's cooler motors for the Silvia/S13's. Oh sheesh... I'm still pretty sure my 1j makes more torque at 12psi than my 7m did at 12psi, but that may be more to...

Oh god! I'll never drink again if I live through today thread + Magical cures!

Heh, when I first started drinking as a young lad of ~20ish, I used to do shots of it with people. Didn't understand what a double shot was though, those ones hurt. Don't drink it anymore unless it's to mess with other people who think they like "strong" drinks. ;)

Upper front negative Camber Control arms

That's what I was thinking... I'll admit a bit of camber wakes up our cars a bit, but we don't need to go through tires every oil change to get good handling. I'll be the first to admit though, that my post's intention was two-fold: I really want that s2 group buy to go through, our OP here...

Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

For the life of me, I can't think of one good reason that we didn't get the 1jz in our Mk3's from the factory. About the only thing I can say that I liked about my 7m more was the sound (completely a superficial thing), and how much easier it was to change the oil filter in it's stock...

Need OEM part number for the plastic outside B pillar covers

One of our vendors on here makes these if you can't get them from Toyota or don't want to spend Toyota money on them. I believe it's Retro-Spec if I'm not mistaken...

What the hell is going on in Arkansas?!

"Authorities are warning residents near the river to not eat the dead fish..." Really? I know this isn't exactly the intellectual mecca of the world we're talking about, but... this seems kinda obvious.

    Gran Turismo 5, anyone?

Wait, you get a Caterham Fireblade for beating the Formula GT Challenge? Err... I just bought one used, wasn't even expensive. That's kinda disappointing to me. So, anyone turn any of their cars into a Race Modified car? Only ones I've read about are a couple Civics, the 69 and 2010 Camaros, C6...

Gran Turismo 5: Supra 3.0 Turbo A Drift Setup

I use my JZA70 for a lot of things. It's set up quite similarly to my actual car, really... Never had a problem getting either sideways. Hell, turn in, throttle down, boost comes on, counter steer and modulate throttle. Easy as that to *get* it sideways, but getting it out smoothly is the...

Oh god! I'll never drink again if I live through today thread + Magical cures!

Although I failed to observe my old rule (equal amounts of water and alcohol-containing drinks) this past new years, said rule had always worked in the past. Never once had a hangover. Had a headache and was feeling like puking might have been a good idea (but don't wanna break my streak, I've...

Upper front negative Camber Control arms

Sorry I misunderstood what the OP was going for, I thought he was trying to fit his wheels under his fenders, I didn't realize his desire was for more negative camber. If you're looking for more grip, wider fenders can allow wider wheels and tires... see where I was going with that? But if you...

    Whp @ Boost Cut

I never had a problem with fuel cut (boost cut) until I put on a boost controller. Then again, I am at ~6500' elevation, so that's a bit of a killer. :nono:

    Gran Turismo 5, anyone?

I try to keep my cars somewhat reasonable, it's not much fun if it's not at least somewhat challenging, but some of the higher level races are rather punishing. For fun, try using the Fireblade if you happen to get a chance at one. It's almost not fair what the thing can do. :p Heh, the...

    Single Turbo Manifolds

I've bugged him about a 1j manifold before, but now I forget what he had said about doing them... from what I've seen of his work though, it's just as good. :)

    coil overs?

I have his old car, and have appreciated the Megans that are on it. Girlfriend likes them too, as they share the name haha... If I were to be doing it again, I'd give the Zankoku Performance coilovers a try, unless I was feeling like spending the money on JIC's. As it stands, they've withstood...

    Gran Turismo 5, anyone?

Another really good way to earn some money is the 'special event' races, such as the go-kart racing and that sort of thing. Takes a bit of patience, but it works well. Anyone know of a fast way to make money in the game? Fastest I've found (time vs income) is the London race of the British...

What do you carry in your mk3

I always thought that would be funny, but never actually did it. On topic, it all depends on what I'm doing. Generally I like to have a small selection of tools with me, but if I'm going on a road trip, pretty much everything IJ listed along with a couple extra things, food and extra water...
