personally, i would get the block decked and lapped, a MHG put on and the bearings replaced, then the motor should be good to do what you wish with it.
a: the cams, injectors(440 vs 550) and turbos(ceramic vs steel) are different.
b: no
c: i dont know
d: OBD1, less wiring
e: stay away from VVTI unless you are going to be happy with low power
for the past 2 years, i didnt even have snow tires, they were some all seasons. this year is my first with snows, and conviently it hanst snowed yet.
by the way, the cops dont like chains around here, because people cant put them on right and they do more harm than good.
wow, people should either learn to drive in conditions such as that, or not drive at all. i love it when people are on 1-95 in the winter with snow/ice on the ground, driving their SUVs and AWD cars going like 10 miles over the speed limit. AWD and 4WD dont help with your breaking, or when you...
there is no such thing as a universially best motor, only one that is best for someone. if someone wants to drag all the time, they might think a LS7 with twin gt42rs is best for them, but the guy who likes autox might want a 2jz-ge with intake, headers, tune and exhaust.
hells, we also do not have complete parts list, and dyno sheets so that vid, although nice, is worthless, sorry. it just shows a jza70 beating a jza80.
aaron, the 1jz has a higher rev limit, keeping the car in its poweband with the right turbo.
to end this 1j vs 2j argument, they both have...
are you planning on throwing a 2j block under the 1j head, or just a full 2j swap? for my 2j na-t swap im thinking along the same lines minus the AEM. the SAFC is cheaper and easier to learn, but the emanage has more options, and can be used to tune better, but harder to do on your own.
holy flame broiled wopper batman, this thread is out of control.
the answer is......they want to go 1j more.
personally im going 2jz-get (not gte) but thats what i want to do, noone else influenced my decision.
jon, when you going to put the motor in that thing. ill give you a hand and then "borrow" your hoist and stuff for mine while we figure out the damn wiring
