It's dependant on boost pressure too. The more pressure in your intake manifold, the more pressure trying to push the valve open. This would be why Ric can take it up past 8 at half throttle, but it floats earlier at full throttle.

If it's electric, it will sit at the lowest point of the scale. If it's mechnical, it will sit at 0.

I don't know, with my 4.10 rear end, I would much rather have the gears farther appart. Of course, I could solve that with a 3.90.

I rev mine to 7500 regularily, but even with cams, the stock twins drop off after 7k.
