Lol - not a bad idea - although the rarity of Supra's in the UK kinda discounts that theory. I doubt that a wheelnut has come off - i called his bluff earlier on and he started going on about the wheel being warped and the hub being damaged etc etc - so i know he's lying.
Also - i'm broke and currently self unemployed, so no ££ to spend out - it was either let the b*stard drive it around and potentially ruin it - or send it to the scrap yard :(
Old people there? sure. Here? Nooooo way. Old people moan & grumble. They're tight fisted. How did copper wire get invented? Two old men fighting over a penny....
Haha - the only thing on it thats 'Euro' is the K&N 57i, the strust brace, the headlight washers, and the steering wheel is on the right. Oh and the different ECU, the lack of catalytic converter and any emissions crap. Still about 205bhp :)
Storage costs ££££ here. Even for a 10 square metre room its about £35 a week.
Dont think it'd be road legal in California, seeing as a) it has no catalytic converter at all, and never did have b) its RHD :)
Umm....to fly to london? about £500 from NY last time i checked :D
Wish i could. He's a crap dad. Never interested in anything, unless he can get money out of it. Even when i was totally broke a few years ago, he complained about having to give me a tenner (£10).
Dont suppose anyone wants to 'adopt a supra'? :D
heh - i need 1 (or 5, however many you can order minimum), if one has really gone walkies - which i'm starting rapidly to disbelieve. I wish someone else could have looked after it - unfortunately, none of my friends can drive. Any UK Supra owners want to look after it or buy it? :(
Actually, the Yaris isnt the smallest. Thats the Aygo's job ;)
I love it actually. So simple, big enough even for me to fit in it (i'm 6 foot 4), and it's remarkably nippy. 42mpg isnt unheard of either :)
Special Wheelnuts? How daft :/
Although i dont think he's lost one at all - he's just trying to get money out of me. Unless he's crashed it and doesnt want to tell me :(
Okay - since my dad has had to start driving and looking after my '88 N/A, suddenly things are 'going wrong'. Now he's not the most honest of people, and he's always trying to get money some way or another. :3d_frown:
This is my dilemma.
I had a go at doing the brakes a few days ago...
I've never ever had a car with A/C before the Supra. In the UK, its actually kinda pointless, barring the two really hot weeks in June before it starts getting stormy. Think the A/C in mine was never used before i got it - seeing as the blower doesnt do the spinny spinny thing anymore :P
Just...
Inline 6's are better i thought for smooth power delivery - and if BMW can make extreme power from an Inline-6..... :D
See, i know that carbs are now illegal to use in new applications, and aftermarket, barring replacement of faulty pre-existing ones. Thats what i like about throttle bodies...
This is where i get confused. If I can get near to 240bhp out of a 1979 Ford Capri's 3.0 essex V6 engine that redlines at 5250rpm, why cant a 3 litre straight 6 push out near to 300bhp?
Theres one thing i'd suggest that might get shot down in flames though - dump the Toyota's EFI system...
Give burton power a ring. They often have engine blocks for 1950's cars in stock. They make the blocks themselves after having gotten hold of the blueprints/moulds whatever. You can still buy a 1959 Kent X-Flow from them, made out of Alloy :aigo:
(those were used as a basis for Lotus engines)
I got my supra for...actually, it was free, with full stealership history and less miles on it than a '95 Mondeo :naughty:
$2500 would be a verrrrry nice place to start my high compression rebuild ;)
Can anyone say 10.5:1? :aigo:
