Hehe - i somehow knew someone else was going to mention that ;) Got the Alternator off after much swearing and WD-40, will take a look at the bushes later on see if it definitely is them. Should apparrently cost me £60 to get it fixed.

Just wondering - since getting my baby back, the car isnt charging properly at all, and the dash warning light pops on all the time now. However, if you tap the alternator with a hammer and press down on it in a particular spot (the top bolt seam), then the voltmeter climbs back to around 14v...

Fact is, the UK is very much different pricewise for parts, and likewise for availability. £2000 is the cheapest i've EVER found a replacement engine (2JZ wise) - with most for rebuild purposes starting at £500/600, which is 900 to 1100 US dollars. Lexus never used to be very popular here until...

Oh the shocks and springs on mine are fine - reasonably new. Was mainly curious as to what benefits it would provide and if it was easy enough with the right gear (assuming of course that the wiring was already in place). It would be interesting though if there was someone thats already done it...

Nothing beats the old '97 STi 22B's - a friend of mines dad owned one of those and the regular impreza. Both powder blue with gold rims, but the 22B with the decals on and the rollcage :)

I considered going 2JZ-GE in mine, but the performance gain of ~30bhp for the £2000 price of the engine imo wasnt worth it. Then theres all the hassle of getting it to fit in the engine bay and the loom etc etc...
