Hmm, my reverse lights don't work, and I merely put a wire in the one end of the NSS on my car to bypass that. Wonder if I need to find another way to get my reverse lights back, or if I have another issue?
I used some anti-fog chemical for the inside of the windows, but I forget the brand. Quite frankly, I wasn't impressed. However, I try to keep a few clean rags in the car to wipe down the inside of the windows once in a while.
All depends on where you get them. Brother paid something like $1500 for his car, and it's in pretty damned good shape. For that kind of price though, it's definitely a long term commitment and a good deal of restoration involved if you want a pristine car without paying out the ass up front for...
Concerning Jalopnik's recent post on a new rendered concept, I like it, but the girlfriend, not so much... Makes ya wonder though, BMW is talking about going V6 in the M3, Nissan already did for the GTR, would a new Supra be a V6?
Had I known about this before I already bought my hood I might have went this direction... Oh well, mine's already on the way, should be nice. Hell of a price for what looks like good work to me. :)
Hey, better to have thread detailing the build for a couple reasons:
-it is easier to get help and pointers from the experts, and
-there's evidence it's been done, so there aren't so many "a friend of mine did this" or "there was a guy who did it" references in threads of this nature in the...
Cheap and horsepower are generally not things that go well together... my advice from a few years of owning NA's?
-Suspension
-Tires
-Brakes
In that order too... may not be all that fast in a straight line, but they make kick ass daily drivers when setup like that, I LOVED my 88. Leave...
Wherever that car is now, it's a GOLD MINE waiting to happen for someone, provided it can be proved authentic. Pretty cool, always liked the old school posters (and art style on the car) that they did. Still have a replica Empire poster hanging up in my kitchen. :)
If you want decent mileage and ability to drift, start thinking LIGHT. The lighter the better, the lighter you go, the less power you'll need to get sideways. However... lighter generally means shorter wheel base, and shorter wheel base cars will DEMAND more driving skill to keep you from...
Friend of mine that built my head has been doing this stuff for years, kinda sad, even after swapping a couple shims around, I think my motor only had maybe 3 clearances within spec. Definitely a test of patience, turning cams the whole time if I understand the process correctly? I remember...
I didn't realize the 5 speed SC's were quite that rare. Knew they weren't common, but wow. Could use an engine for a neat flower bed if you know anyone with a green thumb.
Can't say I've seen anything other than Motec dashes swapped into our cars. I'd love an Altezza dash for the Mk2, it would be more suited to the Mk2 than the Mk3... I think it would look out of place in a Mk3. However, the s2000 dash on the other hand... that could work, depending on size.
I think it's fair to say IJ *made* some of the corners, no? :)
From what I remember you saying in another thread about budgeting, that is basically a small fortune in your area, correct? That's some dedication!
I'm not so sure I can agree with you entirely on that. My brother is only 23, and...
^Very much this. Patience is a REQUIREMENT when it comes to a Supra. If you can find someone on here who's owned a Supra that has never even ONCE broken down on them, I'd be surprised. Even the well taken care of ones can have a spot of bad fortune. ;)
