    Arghhhh (video included)

Not sure I know a word that starts with B and ends with H... ;) :p Like Turbo above me mentions, there are plenty of ways to diagnose a BHG in various threads on here, and they're not exactly unheard of with our cars. Look on the bright side though, this is basically a test of faith that I...

    Rear BBK anyone?

A note on that, a 15" will only fit on the rear if it's the proper offset. It needs to be lower than stock offset from my experience. Used a spare wheel/tire from the girlfriend's Mazda 3 stock wheels (15", +35ish offset) once, and it rubbed on the rear caliper a bit.

    For Toyota lovers

I still have every intention of putting a well sorted 7m in one, for that very purpose. Could be a while though... Indeed they did, that motor went back a LONG way. Started in the Crown if I'm not mistaken, but the 2000gt variant was much more powerful than the other M engines of the day...

    Welding a targa top shut

Not the frame, the unibody structure. Involves going through, gutting the car, and fully welding where the factory merely spot-welded panels together. I've only known maybe 2 people who have done it, it's a rather extensive proposition, but for those looking for every ounce of rigidity, it's...

list of all materials needed to swap ge with gte

Hmm, I don't see the 2jz anywhere in that list. Now where's the 'obvious troll' smilie when you need it?

    place to buy staggered rims

Perhaps the Tom's C7 wheels? I remember seeing them on Memory Fab a while back, they're gorgeous wheels, and the price wasn't horrible IIRC, but they were only 16's. Would be great for a stock or close to stock car... As for the Group A wheels, I would love a set of those. 18x10 fronts, 18x12...

News from Jalopnik New Supra? UPDATED INFO from JalopniK

Finally, SOMEONE else sees it! And Grim, when you put them side by side like that, I can also see a little bit of Z32 in the canopy of the LF-A. However, you've pretty much settled my mind...

Paper, plastic or metal drain plug gasket, what do you use?

You do remember correctly, it is an 18mm on 5m-6m-7m. The 1jz uses a 12mm plug/washer, and I can't speak for the 2jz, never worked on one. I've always used fiber gaskets, the plastic ones seem like they would be prone to leaking to me...

    walked an early 2000's Vette

That second Vette looks like a hatch because it *is* a hatchback. ;) The Z06 was based on the hardtop for reasons of rigidity and lighter weight, while all hatchbacks (called coupes by the Vette vernacular) were targa roof equipped. Also, I've seen those brake vents below the door on coupes...

    Holy effing shyte.

Speaking of "not happening around here", there's some sort of "zombie gathering" in Cheyenne the weekend of the 30th. Will likely be going with a few friends, it's good to get out of town now and then. :)

    Precision 5557B on 1JZ?

If this is a 55mm and 57mm setup like I'm thinking, with the ball bearing and your exhaust setup, I'd be surprised if this doesn't spool up within a couple hundred rpm of the twins. Remember, you're pushing 6 exhaust pulses into ONE turbo rather than three each into TWO turbos. Might even spool...

A new mini CNC mill and rebuildingy style) and in the process of building my old one.

You're not alone in that regard sir... but hey, a Dremel comes in handy when you're not a machinist. :p

I like the style, but what's with the hood? Looks like there's a weird gap along the fender...

    place to buy staggered rims

If that were an option, I would already have bought them. Even with the Shine fenders, those rear wheels would stick out nearly an inch. Not a problem for people who are in love with style over function, but for those of us who actually like having a contact patch that works in a straight line...

    Head question

I've got a ported head, BC cams, and stock valves/springs. I'm not sure if it's just a 1j thing (never driven a stock 1j for comparison), but this car definitely has dual nature. Hit about 3k and it all comes on HARD from there. Kinda flattens out around 5k because the stock twins are a choke...

    Welding a targa top shut

To an extent, I agree. Love the sunroof in my Mk2, but have never been in a Mk3 with the sunroof. 80% of the open air, none of the leaks. None of the looks either, but the car pretty much gets looks no matter how the roof is. ;) If you can get it off with the cage in, you can get it back on...

Who offers carbon fiber hatches for mkiii's?

I'll admit interest, that much I can't deny. Would all depend on the finished product though, and how it looked on the interior too... I imagine weight would be around 25-30lbs per door though, not counting the glass, but have no real way of guessing.

News from Jalopnik New Supra? UPDATED INFO from JalopniK

I've said it all before, but never really took the time to outline ALL the reasons that I hope they leave it be, let it rest in peace... As for building a car in your garage, better get a good heater, it's cooooooooold in the garage during the winters up here. Got an engine in mind aleady? ;)...

    For Toyota lovers

This is possibly my ONE point that I can't argue in the GT5 vs. Forza debate, I'm a little jealous of the Forza guys for that. Not jealous enough to drop $300, but motor swaps are so common these days it's a no-brainer to put that in a game. And IJ, back to my 2j swap theory, an LSx would snap...

    walked an early 2000's Vette

Congrats on the kill man, a fat c5 weighs around 3300lbs though, the Z06 being closer to 3100. Still, always fun to see the look on their faces when their "king of the hill" Chevy gets pulled on, they rarely expect it! :D
