Funny. Can you spot the SUPRA!?

The 80's were such a cool place to attend auto shows... so much better than today.

    Holy effing shyte.

I hear ya there... gotta clean out my garage tonight if I get a chance. I'm of the opinion that the garage is ONLY for cars, and working on cars, so... yeah. So is this what happens when people get bored of "zombie walks"? I took part in one in SLC, UT, and let me tell you... old Mormon people...

Running Out Of Oil and Gas?

I work on the supply side of things in this industry, and I can say, judging by how busy we are, we won't see the bottom of the wells any time soon... This is true though... demand is already fairly high, despite the price (price BECAUSE of the demand, really), and it'll only increase as more...

    alternate way to change oil?

Eh, did something similar, but backwards, to put coolant IN my Mk2 a few years back. Worked like a charm. I wouldn't do that with oil though, one of those Fumoto valves would be a better option to me. Plus, "8 quart capacity"? Crap, I think both of my cars have at the very least 6, probably 7 in...

what car would it be if you were to settle in for a daily driver/cruiser car ??

So do us Yanks, but ours tend to be about 2x the length, definitely not build for European roads. :p That said, most econo cars built anymore are built without the tossable fun that they used to be built with. It's not like EVERY American is fat and only has a car for point A to point B...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

You sir... deserve a cookie. All around awesome build man, good to see how much work and research you've put into it. :)

    Lexus IS300 thoughts?

To the OP, I would say get in touch with Kaizen Motorsports on here, I know Jose knows his way around making a VVTI 2j fast. Could be a good source of research for you. I wouldn't mind one if I were in the market for a 4 door car, they seem pretty well sorted, just a bit down on power for the...

    custom STOCK 2JZ intake/turbo manifolds?

Sethron71 on here custom fabs manifolds for 7m and 2j applications. Damn good looking work too, and plenty of people who would vouch for his work. You can find his thread in the Misc. Vendors section on here.

    Track car

Been tossing about that idea myself too... I seem to recall IJ mentioning that by the time you convert a Mk2 to have all the good bits of the underside of the MK3, it ends up weighing almost as much as a MK3 anyway.

Who offers carbon fiber hatches for mkiii's?

Got the coilovers already, and access to scales to cornerweight the car, so definitely have some work cut out for me... Someone is obviously gonna ask, might as well be me... is this for just the outer skin, or inner panel as well? Would it retain all the function (and safety bits) of the...

    Welding a targa top shut

I agree, on both parts here... Working on the interior with the top off is so much more comfortable, and easier to communicate with others while you're doing it. :)

    place to buy staggered rims

On that note... http://www.vrwheels.com/work-equip-custom-build-p-4055.html In case someone buys them or they disappear from the site, they're a set of silver Work Equips with chrome lips, 17x10 -13, 17x12 -30. Someone make it happen without making it look stupid. ;)

    For Toyota lovers

You'd break the car in half... although I can see the appeal of taking the end of the line for the Supra's heart, and combining it with the origin of the species. I can see the appeal, but I still wouldn't do it. ;) You too Emp, you clearly have no soul either. Then again, IJ fabricates like...

News from Jalopnik New Supra? UPDATED INFO from JalopniK

...and considering how long it's taken THAT car to make it to production (still not there as far as the news is concerned), I'd hate to think of how old I'd be before a new Supra would come out. :p Much as I hate to say it, I rather LOVE the idea of the new Subi-Yota-thing project, whatever...

Got handed by a Hemi Dodge Charger.

Blame the NTHSA... and 345hp isn't terrible for an NA. Not spectacular, but not terrible either. Like Poodles mentioned, the transmissions in those cars is what kills the fun. Give them a proper manual and some 4.xx gears, and re-try Dodge. ;) I think you might be a bit high on those price...

My 2jz supra with 4 inch exhaust and cams

Dude, everybody stalls now and again. Even Andrew admits to it, and this is the guy who was heel/toe-ing and sliding an MR-S around in FLIP FLOPS. :p Good to hear. I've been wondering how a turbo with the .8x range would respond, wondering if it would take too long to spool for my taste on my...

    Holy effing shyte.

Rule 31: Cardio. ;) Damn, I thought I was quick in high school. There were three of us in my Phys Ed class that could do it in under 6 minutes, but I don't think any of us ever broke the 5 minute barrier, and I played soccer at the time. No excuse for not being able to run it in under 9...

Driving unlawfully. How old are you?

See, I always thought that was kinda BS. If you're going with the flow of traffic (no matter how fast or slow said traffic is going) I'd say you're driving in as safe a way as possible. Now if you're in traffic that consists of a lot of sporty cars and you're all doing triple digit speeds...

what car would it be if you were to settle in for a daily driver/cruiser car ??

I'd think he's got a few hundred under the hood of that Mk4... :p And Mike, you'd fit in an SLK? Always seemed like kinda smallish cars to me. Then again, if you fit in the MR-S... I don't think any car would be too small. :) I approve sir. Economy car done properly, unlike the modern...

    weekly car debate thread.

Alright, new week, new cars. I'm thinking modern Euro: NEW (within a few recent years) M5 versus E-series AMG (E63 an option, I get lost with all the options...). Discuss. :)
