The 'rebuildable' bit is what concerns me, I understand that ball bearing turbos are a bit pricey when it comes to a rebuild. Will be looking into this QC story a bit more, see what conclusion I come up with. Couldn't hurt to look into the BW turbos too...
So in other words, you'd either have to construct an entirely new set of guts for the door's interior, or are you saying you would need to basically rivet the thing on, making it lose it's function as an opening window?
Better idea for autocross for sure. Mk3 would make a good road racing car if you have the cash though. However, as mentioned above, Miata is always the default answer to this sort of question.
However... if one were looking to do a Supra for autocross, I would say a Mk2 with a 1uz would be a...
This is true. I still remember when my friend tried playing with a new (at the time) Altima with the 3.5L in his 94 (93?) Prelude Vtak. His car was quick, but I told him he'd get smoked. Needless to say, I was right. Sad that these days, if your new vehicle doesn't run at least a low 15 second...
I always found it funny when people will sit behind a cop who isn't going near the speed limit in clear conditions... I remember on occasion, the DPS in AZ would swerve across all 6-7 lanes to keep traffic going like 40 in a 65 (75?) zone. Never figured out why they did that.
I used to spend a bit of time driving a little slower than traffic in the middle lanes in the Phoenix area. Never know what's gonna creep up on ya there... ;)
Showoff...

"If I had a good bit more money": NSX (summer), MKIV, C6
I'm easy, I suppose. Long as it can get me to work and not get high centered on the snow, I'm good to go.
Oh, and DT, horses are such a pain in the...
5k = kilometers. Merely a running event, give me a month on the treadmill and I'd be good to go. Obstacle course though? I would have been much more prepared for this when I was working at the Depot... too bad it's not coming anywhere near me, looks like fun.
I think I may be looking at this the wrong way, but is that your version of the under-tray, or is that more of a skid-plate to protect the oil pan? Either way, looks nice. :)
You must be going over some mean bumps... I had the Eibach's on stock size tires, and about the only thing I ever scraped was the front lip from time to time. Took about an hour to get over speed bumps though...
Well, all the goodies are getting put into another shell, since your old car had...
This talk of quality control has me a bit concerned. I'm shopping at the moment, and have been looking at a couple of the Precision variants that AMS sells...
This is all assuming that we are talking about metal spoilers... could be a fiberglass one too. Although I think you guys are talking about the holes left in the body. I'll be over here in another thread haha... pulling my foot out of my mouth. :)
Can't tell you how many times I've had to have a tire re-mounted to be honest... it's almost worth your time to mark them (wheel and tire) with what corner they're going on.
Chromoly steel isn't a bad alternative. I think my entire (Cusco) cage weighs 20-30lbs tops. It can be a structural support that encounters lots of stress though, not sure I would want a CF cage... don't think it would work as well.
Hadn't considered this, but I think the point is valid. If...
You guys would love the temps where I live... it's already getting into the 40's in the mornings. Come January, if the roads are clear of snow and ice, you can make some pretty nice power. ;)
