    Head Gasket question!

gts - I wouldn't worry too much about it. Now, if you said 95 ft/lbs (which I've seen guys do)...that would be something to worry about ;) who - LOL! Yes you can use the ARP pre-load technique on a composite OEM HG...in fact, that is the preferred method. You are not exceeding the final...

    poor idle after warm restart

Grim - have you checked your plug wires? What kind of plugs and what are they gapped to? Here's a grounding mod for the igniter that may help: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52217

    2 set up questions

A 62 AR is on the small side for that turbo on a 7M...it's going to choke at higher RPM. Fuel wise, you should be good for the HP you're shooting for...not much more than the mid 400's though. NFI on the MAFT ;)

    Head Gasket question!

The stock HG will hold quite well all the way to 14-16 psi if properly torqued...detonation is what kills them. Vs listening to the "well, I torqued my ARPs down to xx ft/lbs"...you will be far better off torquing to what the ARP spec sheet says for the hardware you choose. FYI - ARP bolts...

    Best 500hp T4 turbo with good warranty < $1000?

What you're asking for is only going to be found from an individual seller who wants to sell quick. The standard rule applies: Fast, Cheap, Reliable...you get to pick two ;) The T04Z or GT35R will meet your goals, but neither is under $1000...they do however meet the other two criteria.

    Automatic Transmission Question

I have an IPT built tranny...valve body, 3000 RPM TC, upgraded clutch packs, etc, etc. I am happy with it...aggressive shifts (barks the tires shifting to 2nd) and builds boost all the way to WOT. I sent a turbo tranny to them...the NA has fewer clutch packs vs the turbo. I'd give IPT a...

Crank but no startup, throwing code 12

The source for the RPM signal is the CPS (specifically NE)...you want to check your CPS wiring and connector. It's very common for it to crack, resulting in a bad connection. Read this: http://www.mkiiitech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=842 You also may want to test the igniter per the TSRM...

    weird radiator

Unfortunately, a BHG :( Get a coolant tester that checks for exhaust gas in the cooling system. NAPA sells one in the states...not too sure about down under.

    adding second oil cooler

Doesn't look too bad a job to me ;) You want to use ATF (Dex III) in the PS system...Mobil 1 Synthetic is the best for this. Drain the reservoir and disconnect the return line. Extend it to a plastic pan or gallon container...start the car, turn the steering wheel back & forth, and add AFT...

    crazy arabs **lol***

I am a mod and that comment was not racist...it was a fact. Anyone who has spent time in the sandbox (which you seem to have not) knows the Arabs look at human life in a far different way that we do in the US. I've seen mothers throw their kid in front of a Humvee so they can get $$$ from the...

    Aftermarket oil cooler options?

In that case, STFU about things you don't have a clue about. Especially in the Tech sections. Excessive heat is the #1 reason oil breaks down. I appreciate the compliment ;)

    swapping 2jzgte jdm into MKIII

Ummm...there's a "Other Engine Tech" section (where this is now). Last I checked the Mk III never came with a 2JZ motor. Please pay attention where you post.

    Ebay oil cooler

Think about it...what would happen with an open hole in the main oil channel running the length of the block (that feed the bearings)?

    Ebay oil cooler

Fittings like that are the same restriction as 10' of hose...in this case, maybe worse. The hose *should* be a -8 size at minimum.
