Who changed their ring and pinion?

I had considered it briefly, to help control wheel spin, but then I realized that if I went much lower than the 3.73, 1st gear would have went to 60+mph... not to mention a potential top speed of well over 200. I was actually thinking it would be better to go to a 3.91, but I don't do much...

Current import lockdown on Toyota JDM parts, possible solution?

Personally, I have all I could possibly need for the most part. If we don't have it, we make it here, since nobody out here in BFE even knows what my engine is haha... Just trying to throw an idea out there. :) So, what has the Ute swap cost you compared to the Supra LSx swap? ;)

help on engine choices for my ford v8 swapped fc rx7 build

4k, that's it? I'd say go for it, especially if that comes with the T56 trans. Seriously, they're a great transmission, almost worth the price of admission on their own. I know it's insanely popular, but like has been mentioned, there is a good reason for that. ;) I'm with Poodles on this one...

anyone interested in cnc'd billet parts? (valve covers, block off plates, coil covers)

Eh, stuff might look nice and all, but speaking only for myself, I'd rather spend the money on making a better car, not necessarily a prettier car. That said, I'm sure there's a small market for this. Enough for you to invest your time in it? See IJ's post above...

    Carbon Fiber

Maybe, but reviving 5.5 year old threads like this will more than likely get you laughed at a bit... To answer your question, all depends on how solid your hood is. Some poorly made ones, stock struts will likely pop a hole in it.

My 88 Turbo vs 05 RSX Type S

Was a joke Andy, that 3.5l would cause enough torque steer, a v8 would be a joke, car would drive itself right into another lane... Pretty sweet, but dyno-ing with the wheels off like that, isn't that likely to give a false reading? I dunno about you, but I don't drive without wheels very often...

    Mossberg 500, anyone use one?

Good to know FDguy, here in Wyoming, they don't give two shits about capacity as far as I know... one of the best things about this place, we do love our guns, almost as much as the hippies hate them. I'll look into the Saiga, might be a future purchase at some point, who knows?

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

That "awful" interior color was just 40 years of sunlight and disco man... nothing to worry about. Get those parts put back in yet? I bet the contrast will look nice...

Current import lockdown on Toyota JDM parts, possible solution?

Was just a thought I had, didn't know how many, if any, members we had with access to JDM parts that we can't have anymore. Granted, IJ makes a good point, the USD isn't worth a USD anymore, so it would likely be a pricey prospect.

    spark plug for the 1jzgte?

Most importantly, make sure your gap is correct (~.028-.030) on ALL your plugs. Pre-gapped is about the biggest joke I've heard. :p

    2JZGE-T vs 1JZGTE?

If you can swing the money for it, either engine with a modern turbo, a good suspension setup, and brakes meant for this type of abuse, not to mention modern sticky rubber... would do you a WORLD of difference. Either engine would be sufficient, but going fast is usually more about handling and...

new tattoo for the supra guys

Heh, I've always been of the opinion that tattoos should NEVER be something subjective, but you're the one who has to live with it, so if it makes you happy, awesome! Ironically, this is one that where the rod knock comes BEFORE the bhg. :p

LED Brake light should be banned agree or disagree?

I'd love to be able to program a design into the brake lights... too bad the lenses on ours have funny refractions. I also disagree though, the sooner your brake lights come on the better. In fact, I've adjusted my pedal and the brake light switch so that as soon as ANY pressure is applied to...

    2JZGE-T vs 1JZGTE?

I have a cammed (Brian Crower 264) and ported 1jz. The car has a 3" y-pipe and exhaust, everything else is stock, down to the air box. With this combination, and a silencer in the exhaust, I made 320rwhp (~400hp at the crank if considering a 20% drivetrain loss). The car is VERY smooth, power...
