when i fix something, something else breaks

I'm a bit afraid of the maintenance I'm preparing to do on my Mk2... fortunately I don't live far from work, but I suspect I'm in for some fun times in the next few months. Gonna be doing a proper shakedown of the car while I still have a Mk3 in one piece to drive if something does break on the...

First oil change after rebuild- health of engine ? [Pics]

Your car has trained you well sir. :p You do this IN the car, or do you pull the motor? Had to do that when they milled my 7m head a long time ago, the original one was frozen in place. I also had this problem, didn't tighten the clamp on that hose on the back of the head enough. I was afraid...

You know you're a Supra owner when...

Bought my rad 4 years ago, and my engine setup 3 years ago, WHERE WAS THIS ANDY CHARACTER? No worries man, I had the PWR when I was still 7m. Fit just fine then...

Well shit!!!! Sold my supra. Bad day.

I've been using my car for a DD for about 2.5 years. Still doesn't sound as good as a 7m. Maybe because I'm using it EVERY day that I drive... I get used to it. Our town (especially my drive) has very few opportunities to open it up, but my car does sound beautiful above 3k. :)

Limiting RPM in MG-E? Keep idiots from screwing me!

I'm with these other guys, why even let this guy drive? Maybe if he has a spare engine built on the side to fix what he might breatk... That said, sounds like it's all stock anyway, why bother revving past 6k? NA's won't make any real appreciable power up there anyway, they peak around 5500 IIRC...

Well shit!!!! Sold my supra. Bad day.

No, but it wins hearts, and mine was stolen by the 7m. :p

You know you're a Supra owner when...

You might be a smart Supra owner if you happen to have a JZ and PWR radiator, and can't *fit* a clutch fan setup in your car anymore, so you make due with a well-sorted OEM fan setup that flows enough (if not more) to make up for it. ;) That's actually a really clever idea, but my car is pretty...

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

Indeed, good call on that recommendation Rodel. I wasn't sure how it was going to come out looking, but after seeing it... I rather like it a lot. :) Yeah, strictly speaking, it would work that way too, BUT... wait until you see a set of these fenders in person. ;) Oh, and if anyone was...

Well shit!!!! Sold my supra. Bad day.

Only thing I miss about my 7m is the sound, to be honest. In the state of tune it was in (mostly stock, plumbing upgrades only), the 1j in the same state (only plumbing upgrades... err, well, cams and head porting too I guess), it walks all over how the 7m sounded. But I really don't care...

    Doomsday Preppers

Catfish are bottom feeders, yes. They'll eat just about anything really... cheese puffs included. Makes great bait.

The new FRS and BRZ what do you think of these to tiwn cars?

Take 1200 lbs off the 370z, add in Nissan's 1.6l Juke motor, make a decent RWD chassis/body, and call it a day. Alternatively, use the 2.5l engine that was in the Altimas, give it direct injection, that could work too. Haven't heard anything about that from Nissan though? EDIT: My old lady...

    Another addition to the stable...

Wouldn't they all be low # cars, given the numbers imported? :p That is unfortunately what you run into with rare cars... Too bad too, they're really good looking.

    Speedometer cable issues

Wow, that's a lot cheaper than OEM, that's for sure. Unless you're talking about just the short cable, in which case OEM isn't terribly expensive. Glad to see them taking care of the issue, I don't need the part number, but it's possible that others might if you care to post it. :)

    1JZ-GTE - CT-12 Wastegates

Definitely fuel cut on a 1j you have there NC. Colder temperatures are why I had to take off the boost controller when it got colder. Even with just a y-pipe and exhaust, my car hits 15-17 psi when the ambient temps start dropping below 30°F. Try restricting the exhaust just a bit if it's easy...

    2jzge cams in 2jzgte head?

I'll vouch for this. Do it right or you'll end up doing it again... Ask anyone who's blown a 7m, fixed it, then blown it again because they didn't take the time. :nono:

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

I see what you mean now, that makes sense. I've certainly got my hands full this year from the looks of it. By the way, the front and rear "tips" of the diffuser inserts, do they sit flush and follow the lines of the main part, or will you have to press them down when you fit them?

What are your favorite things about MKIII Supras?

Mine has been the go-to tow-car around here, for some strange reason. Had to rescue a stranded Mk4 before I owned it, my own stranded Camaro at one point, and a friend's FC more times than I remember. :p If not for the wind we get around here, and rarely getting off work before sunset, there...
