Who changed their ring and pinion?

Sounds like fun. A 3.27 would be a great gear if you do a lot of highway driving, get those rpms down in the low 2000 range... Worth it to you to fab up a custom setup? IIRC, Jaws had a 3.5x for our diffs. Not even sure they're still building those though...

1GZ-FE - My new project motor!

Cool man, I'd like to see what you come up with here, I'll keep an eye on this thread. :) For what it's worth, wouldn't getting a custom oil pan be an easier route than a custom subframe? How long is the engine, in relation to a 7m or JZ that would normally be found in a Mk3? Reason I ask...

    Got A little bored!

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but I have a hard time seeing anyone spending that much on something like this. I wouldn't know for certain (art is funny that way...), but I'd be surprised if you'd find many buyers, unless you are REALLY good at marketing them. :p

boost drop *only* in second gear??

Starting at cruising speeds around 2000rpm, starts spooling around 2500, peak boost around 2800-3000, pulls HARD until about 4800-5000, then just feels like you're pressing the gas just to make more noise. The power "increase" if you will, plateaus at that point. Dyno proves that it still makes...

building the 7m or go 2jz for 600whp fun street car!

My answer generally defaults to the following question: "is this car a toy, or do you need it for transportation too?" 7m - Great for 'toy' or occasional cars, or if you have the dedication needed to do it right. 2j - In most cases, the better option for a DD-requiring car. Still...

    WTH Forest Green 87 MA70L ???

I've been tossing about the idea of painting my car 6L9, it's the color that the car my engine came from. Looks nice on a Mk3, and was definitely a "90's" color... Not sure just yet though.

    Wheel size & fitment questions

Sounds like a nice tire #04... too bad their sizes are a little limited. Nitto NT05 or NT01's are worth your looking into if you're looking for sticky. FYI, Nitto and Toyo are made by the same people. ;)

    Doomsday Preppers

I've been fairly lucky then I think Mike, dealt with a lot of guns and ammo over the years, incident free so far. What would cause a gun to malfunction? I for one, NEVER handle a loaded gun unless I intend to shoot something. I'll check them over, clean them, whatever, when they're confirmed...

    Got A little bored!

I'm sure you could make a few bucks on them, sell them at car shows or swap meets if you have that sort of thing in your area. Hot rod crowds would probably eat this stuff up. Convincing the wives that it was a cool idea though, might be tough. What do you figure your cost is to make one of...

Is this guy retarded? I think so

Err... I'm pretty sure cancer has always been a disease among humanity, it's only within the last century that we've developed the technology to understand it. Same with AIDS, std's, etc... what a tool to think that it's entirely in the things we buy/use in life. My grandma died of cancer, yet...

boost drop *only* in second gear??

It's not just the boost controller. The way my head is ported makes it a mid range monster. As a side effect, the stock twins completely choke the engine around 4800rpm. Having an engine that plateaus in power delivery "feel", that revs all the way to 7200? It's an odd feeling.

Is this a good first car?

Another good option. 85-95 Toyota pickup with the 22re, can't beat them for reliability. Plus if you need to haul stuff...

    Wheel size & fitment questions

Those are some pretty crappy sizes for a Mk3... Who makes the RE11 by the way? Ewww... Kuhmo tires?

    Why did it leak?

Holy cow man... your car holds a lot of water! Might as well do this with the shell, I think we're gonna swap over the 89's tails anyway. :)

    17x10.5 will it fit

Is there anything you don't go to 11 with? :p

I'm trying to peice together an exhaust on a budget.

Snag up an old HKS Sport setup, you'll love it, and they sound great too! Can be had for a few hundred most times... :)

Is this a good first car?

You'd be surprised... I managed to fit $300+ worth of groceries in mine once. This was back when that bought a lot of groceries too... Don't get me wrong, they're not something to move furniture in, but for 99% of people, I'd venture to say they'd work just fine. Really? I guess I never looked...

    Wheel size & fitment questions

We have a pretty awesome thread that's been stickied in this section... http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?56843-Wheel-Fitment-amp-Question-Thread To be perfectly honest, a 275 tire will fit up front nicely with a 9.5" rim with a 35-40mm offset, out back, you could sqeeze in a 305...

    Why did it leak?

Was your car ever rear-ended? I've never taken tail lights off a Mk3, but that area looks kinda funny to me. If so, that might have something to do with it. If not, disregard this. :) That said, congrats on fixing a nagging issue!

boost drop *only* in second gear??

I agree, when I had the boost controller equipped to let me past 12-13psi, I would see 1 bar right around 3k. A gear specific boosting issue, that is an odd one... so, 1st and 3rd gear behave as they should, but 2nd you can't get more than .5 bar? I'm at a loss here. Your car throwing any codes...
