Yep, that's what I'm saying.
Put putty on the edges of your current flap, bolt it on to your turbo (out of car works best) then take it off. Inspect the putty for depth and find where it needs extra sealing metal. Weld it on where it needs it, and grind to perfection.
I don't think a gasket...
I vote with these guys. My DDP also did not come with a separation plate, so I had to fab one up and weld it.
To do so, I cut out a smaller piece of metal, put ticky-tac around the perimeter, then forced it into place in the CT's exhaust housing where I was welding it. Pull it out and copy that...
The pushrod I was talking about is in between the brake booster and the master cylinder, which has splines and a locknut (needs a special tool to measure and adjust this) but it sounds like your adjustment was enough. Good job!
Guaranteed way to diagnose a master holding pressure would be to...
Then what do you mean? My definition of a 'layer' in this situation is similar to that of stratum: one of several parallel layers of material arranged one on top of another.
I see 5 parts to my head gasket and yes, I DID install it myself. I removed one of the rivets -myself- because I didn't...
I can't believe how many details you are addressing! Everything is just stunning. It's so far beyond just a build/re-build...You are remanufacturing your own car!
Did you set the booster pushrod to master cyl piston clearance? There's a special tool you need to use to do it. Otherwise it can hold the master slightly pressed in, which holds pressure in the hydraulic circuit. That's the first thing I would check, I've seen it too many times.
Also, is it a...
If anything you'd want it to be pulled out, not released. It controls throttle pressure in the trans, which boosts line pressure to keep the trans from slipping during full-throttle (high HP) acceleration.
Released/idle=normal line pressure, less drag for good MPG, good for cruising, also...
It isn't anything special that I know of, I was there when my machinist called in the order and it arrived 2 days later. But hey, I haven't been around these cars as long as others...
I went with a cometic 84mm for my JE .020 over pistons. Looked good when I set it in place and wasn't too thin between the cylinders, either.
I believe Rich (SIP Racing) has 84mm headgaskets and in a slew of thickness too.
I'm sorry, I was mistaken. The 4-layer gasket I was thinking of was Sean's HKS Stopper. My Cometic has 5 layers (not 3 or 4). Top seal, shim, middle seal, shim, bottom seal. Here's a picture, taken in my garage not 2 minutes ago.
Amen to that.
Get a crap ton of sandbags, lock up the rear end, slap a HY35 on it and you're set! A plow may help pay off said upgrades, if you are so inclined...
Even the plow truck at my dealer is (essentially) 2wd, since the front diff has to be in the mood to work. I can hear it now...
