Since you mentioned it Ma70, has anybody tuned in went to a larger TB, like the Q45, or Mustang TB? If so how much trouble to adapt from stock. With my set up, Maft-Pro SD, the TB is the most restrictive thing I've got left to replace. Any other ideas?
There is a water hose that goes to the TB and then to the ISC on the manifold. That wouldn't cause it not to start though.
Have you checked the timing marks on the cam gears to make sure they line up when the crank pulley is on the mark, the rotor should be pointing to the #1 wire.

Do it right if you want a dependable DD. I'd take the head to the shop and let them clean it up, check out the head, do a valve job, check and set the valve lash, and clean out the block the best you can, there's another thread that talks about cleaning out the rust. If it were me I'd want to...
You have to have some wires crossed somewere to have the check engine light on with the key out. Are the ground wires going to the intake manifold connected?

Is all you did was change the HG? If you didn't do a complete rebuild if could be burning it.
And you need to check the oil on a regular basis, I check mine everytime befor I start it, but it's not a DD.
If the car had been sitting a while and you drove it last night , with the lights on, it maybe not enough charge on the battery. Also check your ground wires.
