I once was told by an old hotroder that there was a lot of power in the 7m head to be had, I guess he was right. That is if I'm understanding these post right??
Yes, you just need a helper or a brake bleeder vac pump. Lot easier to jack the car up to reach the bleeder fittings. Just turn the front wheels as you need to and hook a old vac hose to it and keep pouring the fluid and pumping the pedal until you see clean fluid comming out.
That's not a idle screw. The TSRM is here on line. It will also tell you how to check for codes, so you do have the way to check them as long as you have a paper clip or piece of wire.
How did you adjust the idle? It's controlled by the ECU.
Checked for codes? There are several things that can cause high idle from vac leak to bad temp sensor, ISC, etc.
Check the TSRM
There's a thread in the NA section that discusses the best header design for NA's, lots of good info and links. I'd check it out before you go welding.
You need to run a little more pressure with low profile tires. I run close to the max. pressure on the tires. This keeps the tire flater on the road. It's the opposite of what you would think, if the center is wearing you need a little more pressure. Take a look at your tires at the top you'll...
Be carefull if you tighten it on a engine stand as you can , with that much torque you can flip the motor and stand over. I usally wait to get that one after it's in the car:)
Depends on what fan you are talking about, the ac fan? Or do you have after market electric fans? If you are talking about the ac fan, no it's not suppose to run all the time.
^^I agree. not going to make things any worse. Then check it regular as far as coolant and oil wouldn't hurt to check the compression again after you get a few more miles on it.
That is if the compression test this time comes out OK.
^^Not disputing that done right the stock HG would work well on a non boosted 7m, but what about high compression, or a 101mm stroker? I just liked the idea that the MHG could be used over again and felt it was worth the extra money to have that option.
Yep I blew 2 of them, the original around 90k and a cheap-o replacement from autozone a few thousand after. I took a piece of heater hose and a piece of 1/2" copper pipe with a cap soldered on the end and haven't blown that yet.
