I did a search on exhausts but it seems like everyone has different ideas, so heres mine and I'd like to see what everyone thinks.

I have an '87 Supra na and as far as i know it's all stock, the guy before me put on, i think it's a k&n cold air kit. I want to get new headers (any ideas on what kind?) and I want to build my own exhaust. I'm an A&P mechanic and I know how to weld, so that's not a problem. I was thinking about 2-3/4" exhaust from the headers out, NO cat, and maybe Flowmaster 40 series.

I'm trying to get a beefy v8 sound to the car. Something that roars, if you know what I mean.

Any help or ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advanced,
Larry

There's a thread in the NA section that discusses the best header design for NA's, lots of good info and links. I'd check it out before you go welding.

I won't be doing much of anything until there is some more money in the wallet, haha. I'm just trying to get an idea of what will sound good. I've had flowmaster 40 series on an s10 and it ripped, so I can only imagine on a supra with a near 3" exhaust with no cats.
