I'm with SB on this shocks have no effect at rest.
Swap left springs to right side, while you're doing it compare the free lengths.
I always install the longer front/rear springs in the driver side if there's any difference.
Also check the spring seats while it's apart the pass side...
RTV after = waste of time
I use #4 aviation permatex as it allows me to install with 1>3 hits and this is very important in that many small hits remove the crush/interference fit of the plug and they can pop out.
30+ years of doing it this way I've NEVER had one leak or fail.
