3bond 1207b is superior to Toyota FIPG, you don't need much as it just ozzes into the inside of the crankcase and if it comes free can cause pickup problems.
If you overtighten the bolts you'll just squeeze the RTV out as the pan deforms and it'll leak.
Sorry NFI I'm not a drag raacer but I'd imagine numerically higher ie: 4.30 would be quicker out of the hole so would give a better ET?
(I'm sure one of the racer types will have a better answer on this)
Yep you're trying to accelerate a HUGE mass with very little power/torque as the engine isn't into it's happy zone, 4.30's make up for this with mechanical advantage (it's why NA's have them).
As I said 3.9 is a good compromise gear as you get some advantage and less rpm on the highway.
Thanks :)
It picked up some power over the 97Db 3" and moved the Power curve 1000 rpm earlier and really bumped up the midrange (at the time with the 3540r this was a very bad thing though)
There's a line with our fat pig cars where the mechanical advantage of lower diff gears (4 series) intersects with load on the Turbo building boost and power.
4.3 will get things happening off boost and get it out of the hole harder but there's less load on the Turbo so they will rarely...
Guess it all depends where you're standing whem you hear it ;)
(never mind that they're FUGLY)
Tests are done xx meters behind and xx to the side on the diagonal.
If you're walking along and a car comes towards you you can't hear it till it passes (doppler effect) and it's loudest when...
Ahhh got ya!
Perceived sound levels will be lower as well as tested levels as you're bouncing the sound off the ground and up before the microphone on the test gear.
Steve/GroupA has one of those.
No probs at all Leigh just send me a PM any time you want to drop over.
The Europe Cooler looks a bit like a thermosyphon setup but I can't be sure without seeing inside one.
