Nope the Deutsch connector replaces the stock failure prone one totally and is much more heat resistant has better pins and should last the cars life time.

They're just casting marks, You could tape it or use some heat shrink tubing Sam.
Replacing it with some decent Tefzal wire and a Deutsch connector would be the best option this way it's never going to be an issue again.

As long as the wires can't touch each other or ground on anything it shouldn't make a difference but you need to insulate them.
As I said I wouldn't spend a cent on that it's beyond saving in any economical way.....
Give it 6 months and it's just going to breakout somewhere else and with added power it's just going to be a deathtrap... :nono:
