The "official" word I got from Cometic way back was any time NEW hardware is used it needs to be retorqued, my take on this after many 7M builds/rebuilds is that it needs to be done EVERYTIME no matter what as a few studs in the middle of the head are always looser than the ends.
LSx Coils in sort of batch fire then, as each has it's own ignitor you don't suffer any voltage/current drop like you do with siamese coils.
PM Big Rob for a part number on the Coils he found, very affordable.
I know the 1gtte ones are very flat/small 20 spline units, 7M ones are quite large so maybe they're the same as the LS ones, just always thought the later model stuff was different.
Is the 7M Auto a GE or GTE one?
This will be a limiting factor used or not....
If you get a T3/4 you're going to need at least an adaptor and downpipe not to mention hardpipes for the IC so can't see it happening in that price range.
3 single channel ignitors from pickapart works if you're keeping it batch fire.
6x LSx Coils with built in ignitors is also an option for full sequential or can be batch fired, they can be had new very cheap.
<nodding> I had 5 engines @ $500 each, 2 full cars and radios, in one season I spent more than I would have to buy/race a full size lower class circuit car here in Australia...
I had a ball but in hindsight at the end of the year it was a really expensive $20 trophy ;)
And just how is reversing A and C going to let the magic smoke out?
(did I mention doing this for anything other than the Map Sensor we're discussing in this thread?)
More forum "BS" but just in case anyone is actually interested....
I'll weigh it today and get a price on Shipping Matt.
If you can find a decent uncracked drive plate there it might be cheaper to ship just the spacer.
