    Fuel cut >_<

the stock rodbolts are the downfall of the 7m's lower end... if anything lets go down there, (aside from melting pistons) it'll probably be the rods due to snapping bolts. -shaeff

    Someone explain boosting to me

i wouldnt even bother, nor would i endorse it in a manual car... its not worth it, hence why i said it can only be done in automatics... michael90T, you probably have the spring in the BOV set too loose... -shaeff

    what gas should I use?

thats a common misconception. actually, you want to run the lowest octane fuel that you can, without pinging. lower octane fuel burns faster than high octane, therefore you could technically lose a bit of power (probably not all that noticable) by running higher octane when you dont need it...

    Mystery smoke

that is way too vague. of course the smoke is going to come from the front, rear, or middle of the car. thats the whole car! if it's a thin whitish smoke, chances are it's antifreeze burning off of something hot in your engine bay. check all coolant hoses for pinholes. squeeze them and move...

eh, no. an atmospherically vented BOV doesnt make you run rich all the time, only when you shift, or coast to neutral. pretty much the only time you run rich is when the BOV lets off excess pressure. if it was open all the time, thats called a boost leak, and sure, you'd run rich, but you still...

i think its a sensor making me run very lean.

thats called the TPS (throttle position sensor). try unplugging it completely and see if your problem goes away. when you unplug it, the car should idle at about 1k rpm. see if it still has the same effects when you unplug it. another thing, a code 52 can cause backfiring. (knock sensor...

    NA vs Turbo cams

woah, i was on a completely different base than you... i was saying that the cams arent what limit the redline, im sure they could be spun higher, though i know the power levels off at about 5k. the crank is. all i was saying was that if anything was a limiting factor in how high one could...

    NA vs Turbo cams

i havent seen this mentioned in here, it's not BOTH N/A cams that are supposed to be put in the Turbo head, its just the intake cam. really, from everything i've read, it just moves the powerband a bit. the cams really dont have a whole lot to do with our redline, thats more the crank. i'm...
