I'm still learning the fine points of TIG, had my machine a lot of years now and got some good info/help from Ron R early on but I just don't get the hours with it to be "good".
My Welds are structurally sound but can't be called "pretty" ;)
AC/DC just changes the heat focus, with Al you need the heat at the work and not at the Tungsten.
(this is my understanding of the issue, not forgetting the cleaning action of the AC current on the Al oxide)

Having said that I personally think Heim joints are garbage on a road car but that's just me.
You want a fixed bushing at one end and a Spherical at the Hub end to allow for rotational movement as well as Up/Down, I'm guessing it's an oversight on Wes's part as what you now have is a Link and NOT a control arm...
Did a LOT of testing when I had my 7M, anything leaner than 15.5>15.8 would make it unresponsive and create a slight lean miss, in turn to drive at that you needed more throttle % so ended up using as much and sometimes more fuel then a low 15:1 cruise.
