Yes Duplicolor, that what I meant. The little 5oz "Import Color" stuff in the paint code of your choice. Thats what I used for my gauge bezel and fiberglass radio bezel.
Thanks for dispelling that for me. Ive never tried to go without a t-stat but its amazing how some of these myths can stay with you. I was told that one by an old stock car racer in the 80's. Its amazing how influential an "old mechanic" can be sometimes.
Cant say I like the placement of the wideband, but if you dont need to see your speedo maybe it works for you, lol. What are the plans for the center area? I bought a nice fiberglass piece from a member here and cut that to mount all my stuff in. That was a long time ago and I dont think he...
Thats a good question, I guess I didnt read the op very well. If its a boost leak its acting pretty odd for one, but nothing else comes to mind. Get that vid posted, it might help.
it doesnt, that ground doesnt ground the coils themsleves, its a field ground and its not critical.
It will make it a bit boomier, not as tight. You have adaquate amplification and its a quality sub so you shouldnt have a problem with overexcursion.
That box is about the right size to fit two of thos subs though ;)
I was told this a long time ago from a competent mechanic, but if its not true someone can dispel the info. I was told that having no thermostat can actually lead to overheating. The theory is that the coolant travels through the system so fast (as its not restricted by the t-stat) that it...
Might not be scuffed enough, might be the wrong kind of primer, or you may be painting over the adhesion promoter incorrectly (too soon or not soon enough?) Is the primer specifically for plastics?
Im a rock guy too and I prefer a sealed enclosure, but one that is the right size for the sub is important. The box you have is too big by almost double.
I used a MP T70 on my build and was very pleased with it. I believe that they are a cut above the chinese stuff (they are Brazilian made), and a good value for a budget build. But Fletch is right, in terms of going from a stock CT to one means alot of supporting mods. Unless you are fully...
might want to find out if there are any import clubs or forums for your area and post there. When I lived in Houston there was a good forum for that sorta thing. Good luck, and that should be fun when tuned.
overkill, lol. But as far as porting goes unless you know exactly what you are doing I recommend going sealed. 2cu/ft sounds about right for that sub. Check the specs for the sub and see whats recommended for a sealed enclosure volume.
Here are a few more pictures. Im sure Tim will chime in here with some of his awesome work...right Tim?

I have a further option. Keep the car as is and save money to buy a nice stock turbo, ...have two cars. Or if you cant see yourself having two, save for the turbo, buy the one you want and sell your NA after to recoup.
The worst thing AND the best thing I ever did was sell my NA for a turbo.
