    wont idle, popping, sputtering

so, i decided that it was time to put some good vacuum lines in for my DR. JONEZ MBC. i pulled off my upper hardpipe, the ISC hose, accordian hose/AFM. when i re-assembled everything, the car ran like complete crap. ok, first thing i thought of. it smells rich, gotta be a boost leak. i only...

    89 tail lights in a 87?

huh? you just confused the hell out of me :p if your car is an 86.5-88, then any 86.5-88 tails will bolt on with absolutely no modification. if your car is an 86.5-88 and you put on 89+ style tails, then you'll have to drill a couple of holes, and as stanzaspeed mentioned, get a new lock...

10 minute fuel filter change the easy way

that's the first thing i thought! :( i smell fuel spillage in your future, sir. and here's the best way to change the fuel filter, that i've found: 1) plan ahead! (like a week ahead) 2) go to the autoparts store and buy PB Blast (best stuff for rusty nuts;)) 3) EVERY DAY spray the...

How old were you when you got your first Supra?

i was 18 when i got my 86.5 N/A 5 speed. about a year or so later i spun a rod bearing. (was NOT low on oil, i change oil religiously at 2k miles, even using synthetic now, every 3k) later that summer i ordered a JDM GTE, and started buying parts. i didnt want to put in any stock parts, so...

    people in CT holla!

putting a JDM motor in a USDM supra is very straigt forward. here's some tips for you: 1) drill out the metal pipe behind the head, as it is a JDM motor, their heater core feeds from the opposite side (where ours is blocked off). you should drill it out and attach a NEW hose for the drivers...

    black mkiv wheel question

the best option, if you have some spare change, would be to powerder coat them. they'll look badass forever! with spray paint, the first stone that hits them will most likely chip them. -shaeff

    89 tail lights in a 87?

for common questions like this, you really need to search. this is a common upgrade among pre-89 people. they bolt right on. you'll most likely have to drill a small (1/4") hole or two on each side. other than that, it's a bolt on affair. also, if/when you do this, get new tail light seals...

    Not Starting when Hot? WTF

the easiest way to figure out if the fuel pump is working correctly is to jump diagnostic terminals +B and FP and simply listen near the gas door for the fuel pump. ;) no need to be cracking open the CSI. -shaeff

    Lost a fan...

heh, i dont even have an A/C/ oil cooler fan... (formerly N/A) and the fan was seized, and i dont have A/C at all, so there was no point in having a seized fan in there. i've never had overheating issues due to lack of that fan. -shaeff

Ok Crazy idea probly already thought of...

here's my opinion on it: i believe dr. jonez had it on there, but the gains arent noticable, really. i was thinking of trying it, but i'd rather not have to take my throttlebody off EVERY time i change my spark plugs. (every 2k miles, with my oil/filter) with all the work it would cause to...
